Job Description

Are you looking for a Veterinary Surgeon role in an established practice that could support your development?
NEWTOWNARDS

Come and join our friendly team!

Are you a vet who enjoys good clinical work, nice colleagues and the occasional bit of craic?

We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our established first-opinion GP practice in Newtownards.

We’re currently a team of 2 full-time vets and 1 part-time vet, supported by 4 RVNs and 3 client care team members, including our team manager.

We’re proud of the care we provide, but we also believe that work should be somewhere you enjoy coming to. We’re a friendly bunch who look out for each other, have a laugh when we can and genuinely care about our patients, clients and colleagues.

So, who are we looking for?

Honestly, we're much more interested in who you are as a person than whether your CV ticks every single box.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Is a confident and capable GP vet who enjoys a varied caseload.
  • Cares about doing a good job and providing great patient care.
  • Is kind, approachable and good with people.
  • Can get on with things independently but is happy to lend a hand when someone else needs it.
  • Is reliable and hardworking, but understands that sometimes life happens.
  • Can have a laugh and doesn't take themselves too seriously.
  • We’re happy to support the right person and help you develop in the areas that interest you.

The role:

We are ideally looking for a full-time vet working 35 hours per week, but we’re also very open to two part-time positions if that works better for the right people and for the practice.

  • 35 hours per week, with one weekday off
  • Part-time hours also considered
  • 1 in 3 Saturday mornings
  • No OOH or Sunday working
  • CPD allowance, including support towards certificates (training agreement required)
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience
  • Private health insurance (opt-in required)
  • Professional memberships paid
  • Company discounts and rewards

If you’re a GP vet looking for a friendly practice where you can do good work, be supported, have a laugh and still get home at a reasonable hour, we’d love to hear from you.

Ready to embark on an exceptional journey? Reach out to Rach on Rachael.bury@vets4pets.com and someone will get back to you within 1 working day

Location: BT23 8NN

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
