Job Description

Broadstairs Vets for Pets is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the team!

Broadstairs Vets for Pets is an established, RCVS-accredited small animal practice with over 20 years of serving the local community. We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least three years' experience who is ready for the next stage of their career.

Whether your interests lie in surgery, medicine, imaging or developing a particular clinical area, we will support you in pursuing your professional goals. We encourage further education, CPD and certificate development, while recognising that every clinician's career journey is individual.

As a practice, we are committed to continually investing in our people, facilities and clinical services. We are an ambitious practice with exciting plans for the future, and we want our team to grow and develop alongside us.

You will have the autonomy to manage your own cases while being part of a collaborative team who enjoy sharing knowledge, discussing cases and supporting one another.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Weekend commitments are negotiable.

Our opening hours are:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 7:00pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm

There are no out-of-hours commitments, and we offer flexibility in working patterns because we understand the importance of achieving a healthy work-life balance.

Broadstairs offers the perfect combination of career and lifestyle. Situated on the beautiful Kent coastline, we are surrounded by award-winning beaches, coastal walks and a vibrant local community.

Whether your ambition is to develop advanced surgical skills, build confidence in medicine, work towards a certificate or simply enjoy practising high-quality first-opinion veterinary medicine within a supportive team, we would love to hear from you.

Our practice offers:

  • Separate cat and dog wards
  • Three consulting rooms
  • Two theatres
  • Dedicated prep and diagnostic areas
  • Fully stocked pharmacy
  • Ultrasound
  • Video endoscopy
  • Digital radiography
  • Full IDEXX in-house laboratory

We also perform a wide range of orthopaedic procedures in-house, providing opportunities to gain exposure to more advanced surgical cases.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Company car
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing after two years' service
  • Generous CPD allowance with encouragement and support for further education and certificate development
  • No out-of-hours commitments
  • Paid professional memberships (RCVS and VDS)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including up to 20% off at Pets at Home

Join us at an exciting stage in our journey. We are building the next chapter of Broadstairs and are looking for people who want to grow with us.
