Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our friendly and supportive small animal practice in Salisbury.

Our practice is located in a fantastic setting on a popular retail park, with convenient amenities nearby including a 24-hour gym. Salisbury is a beautiful historic city surrounded by stunning countryside. The New Forest is right on our doorstep, Stonehenge sits just to the north, London is just over an hour away by train, and the south coast can be reached within 30 minutes.

You will be joining a welcoming and experienced team. Our practice is well-equipped with modern, state-of-the-art facilities, allowing you to fully utilise your nursing skills.

This role offers excellent opportunities to develop and use your clinical nursing abilities, including running nurse clinics, taking and processing blood samples, placing catheters, performing x-rays, monitoring anaesthesia, and more.

We are looking for someone with solid general nursing experience and excellent client care skills. The ideal candidate will be friendly, enthusiastic, down-to-earth, and have a genuine passion for animal welfare. As a first-opinion practice, no two days are the same – some can be very busy while others are quieter, which keeps the role varied and interesting.

While we have two permanent vets, we also occasionally work with locum vets, so we are looking for an RVN who is adaptable, flexible and confident working with different clinicians and working styles.

This role can either be full-time, or part-time. Our practice opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 7:00pm and Saturday 9:00am – 3:00pm.

In return, we can offer:

Competitive salary up to £30,000, depending on experience
No out-of-hours or overnight inpatient checks
Generous CPD allowance, including support for funded certificates
Contributory pension scheme
Paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS)
Exclusive company and high street discounts and rewards
If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and excellent customer service, we would love to hear from you.

Location: SP1 2LB

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
