Practice Manager

Clevedon Vets for Pets are looking forward to welcoming a new team member on a part time basis. If you have strong problem-solving skills, enjoy planning and delivering projects, and are confident managing HR processes within a diverse and inclusive team, this could be the perfect role for you.

Previous experience in a veterinary practice is not essential; however, proven leadership ability, strong organisational skills, and the ability to motivate and support a team are qualities we value highly.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the practice. A key part of the position will be leading, supporting, and motivating the team while creating a positive and productive working environment.

You will oversee the operational management of the practice to ensure the delivery of high-quality animal healthcare services, while working closely with the business development partner to achieve business objectives and maximise the practice’s potential.

What will you do?

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the practice
  • Champion and embed our ethos of being the friendliest practice in the area across everything we do
  • Manage and implement HR policies, while supporting and developing our valued colleagues
  • Proactively resolve issues to ensure consistently high standards of service
  • Recruit, train and develop a high-performing team
  • Work closely with the business development partner to oversee and manage practice debt
  • Handle and resolve client complaints professionally and effectively
  • Effectively manage your own workload and diary to deliver all responsibilities successfully

You will have previous experience managing a team and be an effective communicator with strong organisational and time management skills.
You will enjoy building positive relationships with both clients and colleagues and have a genuine passion for developing, supporting, and coaching team members.

Experience:

  • People management experience and Client / Customer care experience

Skills & Knowledge:
Essential

  • The ability to recognise business opportunities, operational efficiencies and develop plans to deliver successful results.
  • Ability to analyse periodic profit & loss accounts and identify opportunities to drive practice profitability.
  • Assured, effective communicator who can build rapport quickly with the practice team.
  • Effective mentor and coach to all colleagues within the practice.
  • Be an effective team player able to work well with others towards common goals
  • Effective Planning and Organisation to prioritise workload and achieve timescales
  • Ability to recognise client needs and take appropriate timely action to improve service standard
  • Microsoft Office expertise
