What you'll be doing…
The Verizon Global Payroll team strives for the highest degree of accurate, timely, and compliant pay to our employees. The Senior Manager of Payroll Audit and Compliance plays a critical role in this, leading a team of skilled professionals responsible for a variety of compliance activities, primarily including:
Management of Payroll SOX Controls: proactive monitoring of transactions, identification of potential weaknesses or deficiencies, collaboration with functional teams to strengthen control performance, control evaluation, partnering with technical and payroll team members to gather and maintain control evidence, and present to internal and external reviewers. Conduct comprehensive system user access reviews for payroll and timekeeping systems.
Oversight of US Payroll Compliance (for processes and systems, internal and third party providers): monitoring of federal and state legislative changes, maintenance of payroll documentation related to promissory notes and other compliance requirements, publication of internal compliance watchlists and newsletters.
Oversight of International Payroll Compliance: support and completion of internal and external audits, evaluation of changes to international regulations or policies and process/system impact, preparation of reporting and metrics, data analysis, compliance with data retention requirements, vendor management related to compliance, monitoring and updating internal applications that support all the vendor frameworks.
Participation in Payroll or pay-impacting projects as required.
What we're looking for…
The successful candidate will have have a strong and proven background in Payroll compliance, with domestic and/or international focus. This leader must be detail-oriented, a strong communicator with experience presenting to internal and external parties as well as executive leadership. Time management, the ability to handle multiple priorities with strict deadlines, and organization are critical. The Senior Manager will coach, mentor, and development their team, as well as build and strengthen relationships with other parties (inside and outside Verizon). Integrity, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information with the appropriate care are essential for this role.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's Degree (Human Resources, Audit, Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field) or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Subject matter expertise in US and/or international payroll compliance.
Experience with Workday and PeopleSoft HCM applications.
Direct vendor relationship management experience.
Working knowledge of data retention requirements.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Relevant professional certifications.
Master's Degree in a relevant field of study.
People leadership experience.
Experience with Infor and other time reporting systems.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong experience with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.

Where you’ll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
