What you’ll be doing...
The Global Payroll team is responsible for the timely and accurate pay to all Verizon employees worldwide. The Project Management team supports the organization by coordinating pay-impacting initiatives and having end-to-end ownership of the project implementation life cycle (initiation, planning, build/test, launch, and hyper-care). We are seeking an experienced Payroll Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will manage projects of various sizes, impacting from 100 to over 100,000 employees. The primary responsibilities will include:
Management of recurring and special projects, which include movement of employees between legal entities, company mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Creation and maintenance of project plans, for efforts initiated by the Global Payroll team, and for pay-impacting projects initiated by other groups.
Crafting status updates, presentations (Google Slides, PowerPoint), and other project related materials.
Presenting project updates to audiences of various size and organizational level.
Collaboration with stakeholder groups (HR, Legal, Operations, Technology, Finance) to understand requirements, create solutions, and effectively execute change management and training.
Partnering with functional Payroll teams to achieve common goals and ensure smooth project execution as well as stability post go-live.
Ensuring that commitments are met, on time, on budget, and with high quality deliverables.
Identifying areas of opportunity and potential for enhancement, based on functional and system understanding.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree and four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Hands-on experience with Google Suite and/or Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
Project management experience, including medium to large scale initiatives.
Experience creating and presenting cohesive material to all levels (frontline to executive).
Understanding of HR/Finance system, process and data landscape.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
Direct experience managing system implementations in the HR, Time Reporting, or Finance space.
Background in payroll processing, payroll operations, payroll tax, payroll systems and/or payroll compliance.
Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
A professional certification (CPP, CFP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma).
Vendor management experience.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven track record of successfully building and strengthening stakeholder relationships (HR, Finance, Legal, Operations, Technology) in order to meet strategic objectives.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
