What you’ll be doing...
The Director of Product Management, is responsible for setting up the Application Programmable Interface (API) business and grow it to become a market leading platform for Verizon Business. As a part of Strategic Connectivity team, this position involves building an organization sourced from internal & external talent, strong external platform relationships and standout commercial product skills. The Director will also contribute to shaping the strategic vision of digitally extending Verizon services into hyperscaled environments using industry accepted standards. This is a critical leader role as we setup and scale the API business and accelerate digitization of products
Key Responsibilities:
Translate and operationalize high-level platform vision into actionable plans, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational strategy – carrying overall platformization agenda for Verizon Business products improving efficiency.
Build e excellent relationships in the platform as a service industry.
Set customer, product, and business operational metrics for the platforms and shared services in scope and communicate clear expectations to the Product teams.
Represent Verizon at external conferences to build an ecosystem around Verizon platforms.
Take an aspirational approach to expand platforms and platform usage enhancing efficiency across products, meeting quality standards, and adhering to established timelines
Have demonstrated experience in building API centric distribution of services including partnership models.
Collaborate with Technology Solutions, Engineering, IT, Marketing, customer support and Sales organizations on a detailed level to drive product development, content creation, and enablement activities.
Identify and proactively manage risks associated with development and delivery, ensuring the team navigates challenges effectively.
Establish revenue plans and monitor key performance metrics related to product portfolio, taking corrective actions as needed to meet targets.
Streamline operational processes within the product development lifecycle, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Empower and develop the product management team, fostering a culture of operational excellence and accountability.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Ten or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Six or more years of experience in Product Management.
Experience leading a direct or cross-functional team.
Experience in the operation, development, and/or management of platforms/shared services.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Agile and/or Scrum Methodologies.
Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Track record of establishing and achieving key performance metrics for product portfolios.
Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with platforms, development, and delivery.
Experience creating and/or presenting presentations to senior leadership.
Experience with Project Management.
Experience with Lean and Agile development processes, with a focus on optimizing operational efficiency.
Strong leadership skills with a focus on empowering and developing a high-performing product management team.
Excellent communication skills and adaptability in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment. Proven track record of leading product teams in the operational delivery of successful products, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Deep technical understanding of SaaS platforms, ensuring a holistic approach to product development.
Demonstrated ability to translate market and customer insights into operational plans that drive successful product outcomes.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless execution across departments.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $123,000.00 and $249,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
