Senior Back End Engineer (Medical)

Salary range: £50,000 - £100,000

Your role at V7:

• Own and maintain backend infrastructure and processes dealing with the input, output and consumption of medical imaging scans.
• Build out infrastructure for import/export of annotations to standard medical imaging formats like DICOM SEG/SR/RT, NIFTI, etc.
• Integrate with industry standard external storage like Google Healthcare API.
• Implement industry standard medical specific Web APIs such as DICOMWeb, to empower both CLI users and open more opportunities for the front end and deep learning integrations.

Requirements

• A passion for the medical sector
• A desire to stay on top of new developments in the medical space e.g. developments in Google Healthcare
• A strong portfolio of projects
• Strong experience with functional programming. Familiarity with Elixir is a plus, but other languages like Haskell, Clojure, Scala and F# are also great.
• A curious, scientific mind
• Fluent in English

Nice to have:

• Experience working with the DICOM file format.
• Familiarity with DICOM protocols e.g.. DICOMWeb.
• Experience working with NIFTI, NRRD, SVS and other medical imaging formats.
• Any experience working on PACS systems/providing data to web viewers, XNAT or similar is a massive plus.
• Experience working alongside medical professionals.
