Job Description

TUI Group is the world’s number one integrated tourism business. Platform Enablers is a global team within TUI technology responsible for the effective delivery of IT capabilities that support our product teams building a world-class global digital travel experience using Shared Services, Cloud & On-premises platforms and our global Network infrastructure. We are a multi-disciplinary team of experts across Architecture, Engineering, DevOps and Agile Delivery providing services across 36 countries and 153 destinations, to colleagues in key offices, retail and airport locations, as well as customers across all of our markets.

At TUI we’re ambitious to become the leader in technology within the travel industry and to achieve this we are looking to build a capable, creative team who want to be a part of accomplishing that goal.

We never stop looking ahead, seeking new ways to delight our customers and grow our business. We recognise the power of digital and the massive contribution this brings to creating a truly unique and differentiated customer experience.

We are looking for a talented and dedicated leader to join the newly formed Enablers technology organisation which provides solutions, consultancy, education and guidance from getting started to running in the cloud (through the creation of cloud native, cost effective, reliable and secure solutions), as well as operational excellence on transient on-premises solutions being transitioned to cloud.

The Supplier Manager is a key role within the domain and is responsible for managing relationships with key suppliers and the delivery of business value in line with business needs and TUI’s strategy. You need a strong track record of genuine accountability in the delivery of technology services through 3rd parties, combined with successfully managing multiple initiatives and stakeholders in various situations.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • As a Supplier Manager you will own a set of engagements with suppliers and will be responsible for defining the scope of work, elaborating delivery plans, control the quality of the delivery and manage its costs.
  • You will work closely with the Product Owner in the translation of business requirements into technical deliverables, as well with the Technology Team Lead in the collaboration of the engineering team with the supplier, as needed and applicable.
  • You will take ownership for existing suppliers’ relationships and cooperate with members of the team supporting these partnerships at the moment.
  • You’ll need to be resilient, innovative and engaging in your practices to guide the suppliers to provide technology solutions that result in the best possible digital experiences for our customers.
  • You’ll pro-actively look for efficiencies and motivate the suppliers to provide a best-in-class standard during the service and/or application lifecycle.
  • You will need to have an awareness of a range of technologies, especially in the domain of networks, along with the ability to understand engineering practices, to effectively manage the suppliers under your responsibility.
  • You have a good understanding of Agile and good communication skills, which you’ll use to engage with your stakeholders.
  • You will contribute ideas, input into ideation and roadmaps and will be a positive member of the domain delivering new technology capabilities.
  • In your role, one of your key responsibilities is to develop and maintain delivery plans, ensuring that timescales, requirements, key deliverables/milestones, risks and progress are tracked.
  • You will identify and actively manage impediments, assuring transparent communication on the progress, the impediments and solutions.
  • You will excel at identifying, de-escalating and resolving conflicts with the suppliers you’re managing and relevant TUI technology teams.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven track record in managing suppliers, their demand pipeline, requirements analysis, delivery plans, service quality and cost of solutions in an effective manner

  • Perform targeted control of expectations and plan necessary adjustments to continually improve the quality of the services provided by the supplier. This involves preparation and/or amendment of offers, contracts and service level agreements, in collaboration with TUI Procurement.
  • Able to plan implement necessary adjustments and extensions of the suppliers’ services, by conducting regular review meetings to discuss service and quality reports, review incidents, root cause analysis of problems identified and liaise with customers to manage proposed changes, based on value delivered, risk and business impact.
