What You'll Do

The Lead Backend Engineer will play a pivotal role in our ambitious mission to create the world's best shopping experience. Some of your responsibilities will be to:

  • Own our backend

  • Implement highly-available systems that scale to millions of users

  • Provide technical leadership to the backend team and others

  • Design and build new features.

  • Communicate challenges to technical and non-technical team members.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a seriously fast-paced start-up (prefer early stage)

  • Know what it takes to be the best

  • Experience with real-time, scalable, and distributed mobile APIs

  • Must have:

    • AWS

    • Node.js

    • PostgreSQL

  • Nice to have:

    • ElasticSearch/OpenSearch

    • NestJS

    • Terraform

  • Note: You must be in London, UK, for this role. We are not sponsoring visas at the moment.
