Job Description
We are currently looking for new team members from across the UK to join our Refit Team.
This role is a temporary / fixed-term contract but it could lead to a full time permanent position.
Working alongside other Refit Operatives and a Refit Manager, you will implement exciting new store layouts and efficiency improvements in branches across all the UK, with overnight stays expected. All travel and accommodation costs are covered and there is also subsistence allowance of £30 per day when staying away from home.
Working as part of a team, you will:
- Pay close attention to remaining healthy and safe at all times
- Construct and relocate racking and fixtures in a safe and efficient manner
- Install and relocate point of sale materials and racking accessories
- Relocate stock, whilst working to company standards and stock control procedures
- Complete branch relays to company standards.
- Help the branch teams to maintain customer satisfaction during the refit project
As a refit operative, being flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment is essential. You should be hardworking, have a great work ethic, able to work to set deadlines, be able to work in a close team environment, and have a professional, positive, organised, and enthusiastic approach. While proven experience in a retail or warehouse environment would be advantageous, it is not essential. You should be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Remember, the key to success is being self-motivated.
As the role could be based in any of our branches across the UK, flexibility in your weekly work location / ability to stay away from home is essential. You will need to be adaptable to change; depending on project and workload requirements.
This is a great opportunity for you to join our team as a Refit Operative. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and brilliant opportunities to grow within Booker. You will receive full training as required including SEIRS, IPAF, CSCS and merchandising.
So, if you are a motivated individual with a strong work ethic, please apply, and we will be in contact with you!

Some people are at the start of their careers, some want the freedom to do the things they love. Others are going through life-changing moments like becoming a carer, nearing retirement, adapting to parenthood, or something else. So, talk to us throughout your application about how we may be able to support you.
We’re proud that Booker is a Disability Confident Committed employer and we’re committed to providing a fully inclusive and accessible recruitment process. For further information on the accessibility support you can expect, please contact recruitment@bookergroup.com

On the occasions where we have high volumes of applicants, some roles may close earlier than the advertised end date in order for us to manage all of the applicants appropriately. We will only be able to offer individual feedback to those candidates who attend an interview.
