Job Description

Provides great service to our stores, ensuring customers have great availability and standards of product by providing our colleagues and Managers with the skills, desire and support to deliver their roles within a safe, people focused environment. Manages the basics for our colleagues across all shifts.

  • Recruiting the best people for my team, selecting those that are naturally great with people.
  • Training and validating operational and behaviour training skills, ensuring my team have the capability to deliver their role.
  • Providing constructive feedback based on observations of interactions with customers/ colleagues, ensuring my team are inspired to deliver excellent service.

  • Managing and reviewing my teams performance, providing open and honest feedback and agreeing Objectives, Personal Development Plans and Next Steps.

  • Having exceptional knowledge and capability to achieve our safe and legal commitments.
  • Getting involved with charity and community initiatives, encouraging my team to do the same.
  • Delivering and sustaining our change plan activities, contributing to our wider business improvements.
  • Having a great knowledge of related KPI�s and able to identify and resolve root cause issues, with sustainable solutions and continuous review.
  • Completing audits and health checks demonstrating due diligence, finding potential risks and engaging accountable Lead Managers to fix them.
  • Overseeing the accident reporting and investigation process, tracking trends and removing future risks.
  • Inspires my team to deliver a great service to our customers through:
  • Coaching my team on how to enjoy interacting with our customers/ colleagues/suppliers and treating them as individuals.
  • Role modelling great safety and leadership behaviours, demonstrating my enthusiasm to inspire and engage our colleagues.
  • Delivering high standards by presenting my area and colleagues in a manner that positively reflects our brand.
  • Ensuring seasonal events are planned well, creating a great atmosphere and enjoying these times with our customers and colleagues.
  • Equipping the team with the tools to deliver their role, and continuously improve our safety performance.
  • Managing the payroll routines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Overseeing our catering partners, ensuring their colleagues feel part of our Distribution Centre team, have the skills to do their job and deliver a healthy, balanced menu of a high standard.
  • I connect with my colleagues, sharing knowledge, experience and best practice. I understand the importance of what I do and work collaboratively to deliver results. I make time to build strong relationships, reaching out across the business to network with colleagues and find new ways to improve what matters.
