Salary - from £38,000 + annual bonus & benefitsWork Level - 2Location – Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, PermanentOffice Attendance – Our hybrid working model gives you the best of both worlds - flexibility to work from home and valuable face-to-face time with colleagues. This role typically requires 2 days per week onsite.Closing Date - Applications close on 7th August at 5pm
Why this role?This is a great opportunity to join our Technology Controls team as a Technology Control Assurance Specialist, helping to strengthen how we assess, evidence and improve the effectiveness of key technology controls across Tesco Insurance and Money Services. You’ll play an important role in supporting a robust control environment, providing insight on control performance and helping teams understand where improvements are needed.
What you’ll be doing • Support the delivery of control assurance activity across key technology processes, helping to assess whether controls are designed and operating effectively.• Work with control owners and technology teams to gather evidence, understand control performance and identify gaps, themes or areas for improvement.• Document assurance outcomes clearly, ensuring findings, actions and supporting evidence are accurate, proportionate and aligned to agreed standards.• Track agreed actions through to completion, supporting colleagues to remediate control weaknesses and improve control maturity.• Contribute to reporting that provides clear insight on control effectiveness, risks, issues and emerging themes for technology leadership and risk forums.• Support continuous improvement by helping to refine assurance approaches, templates and ways of working across the Technology Controls team.
What we’re looking for (minimum criteria) • Experience of working in technology risk, controls, assurance, audit, compliance or a similar governance-focused role.• Good understanding of control design, control testing, evidence review and the importance of clear, accurate documentation.• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain control requirements and assurance outcomes in a clear and practical way.• Well organised, with good attention to detail and the ability to manage assurance activity, evidence requests and action tracking to agreed timescales.
And if you have any of these, even better • Experience working with technology control frameworks, regulatory expectations or industry standards such as COBIT, ITIL or NIST.• Experience supporting internal or external audits, second line reviews, risk assessments or control assurance reviews.• Familiarity with risk management, issue management or governance tools used to record controls, findings and remediation activity.• A relevant professional qualification or working towards one, such as CISA, CRISC, ITIL or equivalent experience.
