Salary - Between £76,400 - £114,600 + annual bonus & benefits Work Level – WL2Location – Edinburgh, Reigate, Glasgow, Newcastle. Permanent.Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our office, 1-3 days per week for this position.
We’re looking for a Lead Governance Risk & Compliance Manager to join our Insurance, Money & Services team.
Reporting to the CISO, this role provides enterprise-level leadership for Information Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance. You’ll ensure that cyber and information risk is effectively governed, clearly understood, and managed in line with business strategy, regulatory expectations, and risk appetite.
You’ll play a critical role in translating complex risk and regulatory challenges into clear, decision-ready insights for executives, risk committees, and Boards.
What you’ll be doing • Define and evolve the security GRC strategy and operating model, ensuring alignment to business objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite.• Lead security risk management, overseeing risk assessment, aggregation, and escalation, and advising on risk acceptance decisions. • Own compliance and assurance activities, acting as the CISO’s delegate for audit, regulatory engagement, and control effectiveness. • Maintain policy and control frameworks, ensuring they are proportionate, effective, and embedded across the organisation. • Provide clear risk reporting and insight to executives, committees, and Boards, translating complex issues into decision-ready outputs. • Lead GRC capability and stakeholder engagement, building high-performing teams and influencing senior leaders across the business.
We need you to have (minimum experience) • Extensive experience in Information Security Governance, Risk & Compliance within complex organisations• Proven ability to design and operate GRC frameworks and operating models• Strong experience in cyber and information risk management, including risk assessment and aggregation• Experience advising senior executives, risk committees, and Boards on material risk• Ability to provide objective challenge and clear recommendations on risk and compliance matters• Strong stakeholder management, influencing without direct authority• Experience managing internal audit, external audit, and regulatory engagement• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks• Ability to oversee control effectiveness and assurance activities• Experience leading high-performing GRC or risk teams• Experience acting as a trusted delegate to a CISO or senior security leader• Experience in financial services or other regulated environments
Certifications:• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor or similar• Formal qualifications in risk management
