Fire Safety Engineer

Job Description

An exciting new role within our Property Function! Tesco is recruiting for a new Fire Safety Engineer! You will ensure the ongoing improvement and management of fire safety across Tesco�s operations, this role is critical to enhancing our capability to manage fire safety risks, improve compliance, and provide expert support to various teams across Tesco.�

The Hiring Manager for this role is Jelena Stepanovic.

• Conduct detailed reviews of all fire risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Tesco�s fire safety standards.
• Provide technical support to design teams, including occupancy calculations, fire protection measures, and compliance with fire safety regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety into new and existing projects.
• Conducting biweekly reviews to monitor progress on identified actions and ensure deadlines are met.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate data reporting.
• Attend site visits with the fire brigade to ensure compliance with compartmentation, passive fire protection measures, and other critical fire safety requirements.
• Act as a point of contact for fire-related issues raised by authorities and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with internal functions with fire-related issues, providing expert advice and solutions.
• Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring all fire safety requirements are met.
• Lead the creation of a comprehensive fire safety guide tailored to Tesco�s operations, outlining standards, processes, and best practices.
• Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to align the guide with Tesco�s fire safety goals.

• Degree or equivalent experience level qualification in Fire Engineering or related subject
• Experience reporting on Fire Risk Assessments and providing expert advice and solutions
