Working as part of a collaborative team, you will maintain customer account information, manage Direct Debit details and ensure documentation and records are accurate, complete and fully auditable.

You will work closely with Branches, Foodservice Sales teams, Customer Service and customers, so strong communication, organisation and attention to detail are essential.

  • Identifying errors or missing information and contacting customers directly to resolve any issues before applications are processed.

  • Carrying out credit checks on new and existing customers in line with company procedures.

  • Managing changes to customer credit limits and payment terms, ensuring the appropriate checks and approvals are completed.

  • Contacting customers to obtain and verify Direct Debit information.

  • Accurately recording and amending Direct Debit information on SAP in line with BACS requirements.

  • Completing checks and amendments relating to customer Direct Debits through the integrated payment platform.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account records.

  • Preparing and checking customer welcome communications before they are issued.

  • Working closely with Branches, Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams to resolve queries and progress applications efficiently.

  • Responding to customer and colleague queries promptly and professionally.

  • Supporting colleagues and contributing to the effective running of the wider team.

  • Previous experience within Credit Administration, Finance Administration or Customer Administration.

  • Experience working with customer account information and documentation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately process financial and customer information.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines and agreed SLAs.

  • A proactive approach, with the ability to use your own initiative and resolve problems effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence communicating with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong customer service skills, with a professional and helpful approach.

  • The ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • The ability to work independently while recognising when an issue needs to be escalated.

  • A positive and collaborative approach to teamwork.

  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Experience using SAP would be desirable.
