About Airbus Netherlands

Airbus Netherlands is a global leader in satellite solar power, with over four decades of experience powering satellites for a wide range of applications, including earth observation, communications, science, navigation, and human space flight. Six years ago, we entered the commercial small satellite market with Sparkwing, our innovative catalogue of solar arrays. Sparkwing has been a tremendous success and is now scaling up production to over hundred solar wings per year.

About the Internship

We are seeking a proactive and curious Technical Market Research Intern to support our technical market research efforts in the satellite solar power domain. This 3 to 6 month internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the future developments of Sparkwing and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and innovative industry. We are looking for an intern that can start in June or July 2026.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research on public information to create an overview of the current and future solar array market and technologies.
  • Gather and analyze existing solar array knowledge within Airbus Netherlands.
  • Compile a database of current an historic solar array usage.
  • Compile a database of solar array manufacturers and solutions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the solar array market and its trends.
  • Collaborate with our engineering and sales teams to ensure alignment and integration of market insights.
  • Prepare a presentation and report summarizing your findings and recommendations, to be agreed upon with your supervisor.

  • Desired skills and qualifications

    • Current Bachelor or Master student in Aerospace Engineering, Technical Management or Business with a strong affinity for business and space technologies.
    • Proactive and curious attitude with a passion for innovation.
    • Excellent organizational and data categorization skills.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Obsidian (or similar) and other relevant data analysis tools.
    • Strong communication skills in English.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Interest in gaining hands-on experience in market research and learning about the success factors in a space business.

    Confidentiality and data protection

    As an intern at Airbus Netherlands, you will have access to confidential and proprietary information. You will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and adhere to our data protection policies. Maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information is a critical aspect of this role.

    Requirements:

    • Residency in the Netherlands.
    • VOG and background screening to obtain a security clearance is part of the procedure.
