Job Description

We help the world run better

At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll build

AI has real potential to change how teams work — but only if someone makes it practical.

In this role, you help a team of data engineers cut through the noise of AI tools and find what actually works. You build prototypes that turn ideas into something colleagues can see and use. You spot where manual effort can be replaced by smarter solutions. And you help people get comfortable with AI in their daily work.

The impact is direct: Less time on repetitive tasks, faster decisions, and a team that stays ahead of what AI can do for business processes.

What You'll Do:

  • Research and evaluate AI tools and document practical findings
  • Build prototypes and demos to showcase capabilities
  • Identify automation opportunities in team workflows
  • Support colleagues in getting started with AI tools
  • Write and refine prompts to improve AI output quality
  • Help implement, test, and maintain automation solutions
  • Support communications and documentation

What you bring

You are curious, creative, and open to new ideas. You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating in a team. Experience with coding, scripting, or app design is a plus — what matters most is your willingness to explore and experiment.

  • Currently enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences
  • Preferably studying AI, Informatics, or a related field
  • Genuine interest in AI and how it can be applied in practice
  • Strong affinity for technology — no specific programming language required
  • Fluent in English & German, written and verbal
  • Able to work from our Walldorf office on a part-time basis

Where you belong

We are a data engineering & analytics team within SAP's Corporate Processes & Information Technology organization. Our work helps SAP's services and customer teams make better decisions — from how resources are planned and engaged to how cloud subscriptions are managed and renewed.

We build and maintain data infrastructure, reporting, and planning solutions used across the globe. Our work sits at the intersection of data, technology, and business impact. We are a small, focused team that moves fast, embraces new technology, and is actively exploring how AI can transform the way we work.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.

This is a SAP global, strategic, paid working student position that provides students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.
