What you'll build

Work Area: Software-Design and Development

Location: Walldorf

Expected start date: May 2026

In this role, you’ll:

• Assist in implementing and testing MCP‑based ABAP AI developer tools (e.g., ATC Explain, Code Explain, Quick Fix automation)
• You will work for the development team in Bangalore and preferably longer term
• Support agent development for ABAP AI Agent, including orchestration logic, prompts, and integration flows
• Contribute to prototype features for CCM AI workflows, supporting clean‑core modernization tasks
• Develop and refine logic around classification of simple vs. complex fixes, confidence assignment, and fix recommendations
• Help maintain test cases for CCM‑related scenarios like ATC explain/fix, ABAP AI recommendations, and code migration flows
• Perform regression testing and validation of AI‑assisted code transformations
• Document bugs, gaps, and improvement opportunities directly into our internal workflows
• Collaborate with experts across ABAP Tools, Cordia/MCP Framework, Clean Core program, and CCM workstream
• Contribute to team knowledge bases, enablement sessions, and internal wikis

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or university of applied sciences
• Preferred fields of study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related technical fields
• Technical skills: Basic programming (ABAP, Python, Java, or similar); interest in AI tooling, developer workflows, or static code analysis is a plus
• Language skills: Fluent in English
• Soft skills: Team oriented, curious, proactive, and willing to learn in a real engineering setup

Where you belong

The ABAP AI CCM team builds AI powered tooling that accelerates ABAP modernization and clean core adoption.

They develop MCP based Explain/Fix tools, agentic workflows, and intelligence for classifying and recommending code fixes.

The team works closely with developers, product experts, AI workstreams across SAP.

Engineering excellence, collaboration, and fast prototyping are central to how the team operates.

Their mission is to shape the next generation ABAP developer experience through smart, automated, and reliable AI tools.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
