Job Description

We help the world run better

At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

About the Product Area

S/4HANA Last Mile Distribution is SAP's latest innovation for the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) industry process. This approach enables consumer product companies to deliver goods directly to points of sale - such as retail outlets, mom-and-pop stores, and vending machines - bringing manufacturers closer to their customers. By doing so, companies can influence product presentation and availability, execute in-store merchandising, and carry out targeted activities to boost market share at the individual store level.

About the Team

We are looking for a UX Designer to join our Experience Design team in Germany to work on Retail products within Consumer Industries.

In this role you will combine UX design and UX research skills to help shape product decisions from discovery to delivery. You’ll support research activities, contribute to design solutions, and work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure we are solving meaningful customer problems. Our team applies user centered design and research processes to modernize the enterprise software experience.

We thrive in a fast-paced environment and seek dedicated professionals who take initiative and accountability, collaborating closely with customers and teammates to deliver valuable solutions and approach every challenge with a positive, can-do spirit.

What you'll do

UX Design

  • Translate insights and requirements into user flows, ideation sessions, prototypes, and interaction patterns.
  • Create concepts and prototypes from low to high fidelity and test them with external facing end-users to iterate upon the feedback. Artifacts might include storyboards, journey maps and mid-fidelity concepts.
  • Advocate for the user when working closely with product managers and engineers to understand the business and technical requirements
  • Assist in planning and facilitation of client facing design workshops and co-innovation sessions
  • Work closely with engineers to maintain the quality of the design intention throughout the end-to-end process

User Research

  • Conduct generative and evaluative research to uncover user needs, pain points, and opportunities, working closely with cross functional UX, PM and Engineering colleagues
  • Synthesize user insights into clear findings, themes, and recommendations that inform design and product decisions
  • Design compelling and digestible deliverables, focused on storytelling and highlighting important insights for product vision and roadmap development
  • Balance user research rigor with agility to deliver timely, useful results

What you bring

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years in UX Design, Product Design or Interaction Design, ideally with hands-on experience in both UX Research and UX Design
  • University degree in Interaction Design, User Research, Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction or comparable fields is required
  • Practical experience with a mix of research methods, both generative and evaluative, and understanding of when to apply them.
  • Strong interaction design fundamentals and user-centered design thinking
  • Hands-on experience with Figma/FigJam
  • Curiosity about AI design tools and how to utilize them within a large company

Collaboration & Communication

  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to tell compelling stories, connect insights to design decisions, and influence product direction.
  • Humble, collaborative, and open to feedback
  • Ability to clearly communicate design details to engineers and collaborate deeply with cross-functional partners.
  • Comfort working in a global, hybrid, multi–time zone environment.

Ways of Working

  • Strong time and priority management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in international teams.
  • Ability to document and present work that demonstrates your strategic thinking, leadership, and craft.

Please submit your CV in English together with portfolio or presentation(s) demonstrating hands-on examples of:

  • design craft (flows, ideation, prototypes, interaction details),
  • user research capabilities (methods used, insights generated),
  • and clear contribution to product and business outcomes.
