What You’ll Do

Product Ownership & Delivery

  • Contribute to the setup, operating model, and delivery foundation of the AI Prototyping Lab environment, enabling Agentic AI Engineers, Citizen AI Developers, and Business AI Innovators to experiment with AI tools on curated data in a safe, scalable, and compliant environment
  • Own, create, prioritise, and maintain the platform backlog, while shaping the roadmap together with business owners, engineering, and the Product Manager
  • Act as a hands-on technical product owner who can move between product definition and implementation, including building prototypes, validating ideas through experimentation, and using modern AI-native development tools to accelerate discovery
  • Test new concepts, workflows, and technical patterns through lightweight prototypes, proof of concepts, and iterative experiments before scaling them into production-ready platform capabilities
  • Balance business needs, technical feasibility, user experience, and market trends to shape successful low-code / no-code and AI-assisted development experiences
  • Evaluate emerging AI tooling, developer workflows, and ecosystem trends, and translate relevant opportunities into practical platform capabilities
  • Ensure team deliveries are compliant and aligned with SAP processes, enterprise architecture standards, and responsible AI requirements
  • Contribute directly where needed through prototyping, API integration, workflow setup, prompt design, or lightweight technical implementation to unblock delivery and accelerate learning

Collaboration

  • Engage with stakeholders across SAP to ensure transparency, gather product feedback, and identify high-value opportunities for prototyping tools and AI-enabled workflows across the organisation
  • Work closely with engineering, solution architecture, design, and security to translate product needs into scalable platform capabilities, sound technical decisions, and a strong developer experience
  • Drive squad goals in close collaboration with engineering, architecture, security, and business stakeholders
  • Act as a bridge between product strategy and implementation detail, refining solution approaches and making pragmatic trade-offs
  • Adhere to standards set by architects, security, and other subject matter experts, while helping teams apply those standards in practical and usable ways
  • Support and mentor others in the squad on product thinking, experimentation practices, and effective use of modern AI development tooling

Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively self-improve and share expertise with the squad, especially in emerging AI tooling, prototyping methods, and product discovery practices
  • Give & receive feedback regularly to improve processes and product
  • Drive platform adoption and value realization by identifying friction points, improving onboarding and self-service, and measuring user outcomes
  • Continuously improve internal ways of working through experimentation, automation, and AI-assisted development practices that increase speed, quality, and learning
  • Establish feedback loops from prototypes, pilots, and early adopters to refine platform direction and prioritisation

Accountability

  • Responsible for delivery of outcome of assigned projects or areas of responsibility
  • Collaborate in devising long-term concepts for the platform and its evolution
  • May include informal leadership responsibilities across the squad or workstream
  • Internally recognized senior on complex technical and business matters
  • Works on large, complex activities, using demonstrated creativity and expertise and applying specialist professional knowledge to deliver high quality results / technical solutions


What You Bring

Qualification & Certifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or similar field
  • At least 8 years of experiences with the last 5 years in technical product ownership/engineering
  • SAP, AWS, GCP, Azure certifications (desirable)
  • Product Owner & Project Management certifications (desirable)

Functional Expertise

  • Strong understanding of low-code / no-code platform design principles and enterprise AI user personas, including Agentic AI Engineers, Citizen AI Developers, and Business AI Innovators, and what each needs to be productive
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tooling ecosystems such as LLM APIs, prompt playgrounds, RAG pipelines, and agent frameworks, and the ability to simplify their complexity for different user groups
  • Experience with developer experience (DevX) or platform product management, including onboarding, self-service workflows, and templated starter kits
  • Knowledge of enterprise governance and guardrails, including usage policies, model access controls, cost management, and responsible AI compliance
  • Ability to define and track platform adoption metrics such as time-to-first-prototype, active users, use case conversion rate, and user satisfaction
  • Understanding of API marketplace or service catalog concepts, including curating and exposing AI capabilities in a discoverable and composable way
  • Familiarity with SAP BTP, AI Core, and adjacent SAP technologies to ensure alignment with the existing enterprise technology landscape


Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience in product ownership, platform engineering, solution engineering, or technical product management within AI/ML platforms, developer tooling, or internal platforms
  • Strong understanding of LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic frameworks — enough to make informed prioritization and trade-off decisions
  • Familiarity with SAP BTP ecosystem (AI Core, AI Launchpad, Cloud Foundry) and platform engineering concepts (APIs, microservices, multi-tenancy)
  • Working knowledge of security, access control, and responsible AI governance patterns for multi-user platforms
  • Experience with agile methodologies and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira)


General Business Expertise

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability and strategic thinking
