About STAR

This is a unique opportunity to combine academic study with industry experience with the world’s leading business software provider, SAP. This dual study program will kick start students’ careers by giving them an opportunity to put their academic studies to immediate use in industry. In tandem they will be able to bring real industry insight back to their academic pursuits.

The STAR Program at SAP offers a range of possibilities that allows you to continuously broaden your knowledge and pave the way for a successful career.

What you’ll do

Starting in March 2026, the program kicks off with a comprehensive onboarding phase in which you will strengthen your technical and soft skills and get to know SAP and your fellow program participants. This will be a mixed cohort with technical and functional profiles.

Our program provides numerous opportunities within SAP. Throughout the program, you will rotate through two different departments and gain insights into various topics (6 months each rotation). You will broaden your knowledge in your preferred working fields and prepare yourself for a successful career in the IT industry.

You will work an average of 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours to suit your lecture times. For your personal and professional development, there will be plenty of training options for pursuing your individual development goals

What you’ll bring

· Educational areas: Business Management/Business Analytics, Engineering, IT, Informatics or a related field.

· Your last year of bachelor’s degree in the universities below or

· A completed bachelor’s degree and acceptance into or current enrollment in Master’s programs in the following universities

o ISCTE Business School (IBS)

o ISCTE – Escola de Tecnologia e Arquitetura

o NOVA SBE

o Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa

· Full commitment to the 1-year at SAP Portugal/STAR Program, with active participation in all program components

· Initial professional experience through internships, apprenticeships, or working student roles is an advantage

· If technical - good knowledge with at least one of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, SQL and others.

· If technical – it’s a nice to have: an understanding in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), IT systems (Linux / Windows Server)

· If functional – background in finance knowledge, interest on technology and innovation, willing to learn with a strategic mindset

· Interest on Artificial Intelligence and innovation

· Proficiency in MS-Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

· Advanced in written and spoken English language, additional language skills is a plus.
