Senior Quality Engineer (f/m/d) - SAP S/4HANA Product Compliance
Job Description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you'll do
You will be a key quality owner for SAP S/4HANA Product Compliance — one of SAP's most regulation-driven solution areas, helping companies worldwide manage dangerous goods and chemical compliance at scale.
In this role you will:
- Own test strategy end-to-end — translate software requirements and specs into structured, risk-based test strategies and concrete test cases that the team can execute consistently
- Lead and guide — coach and support fellow engineers and developers in executing tests based on defined test cases; be the quality bar others orient by
- Automate what matters — design and implement automated test suites for regression, integration, and scenario coverage using modern tooling (ABAP Unit, OPA5/SAPUI5 test frameworks, or comparable)
- Explore and break things — conduct deep exploratory and functional testing of S/4HANA Product Compliance features before they reach customers
- Champion quality from day one — embed testing thinking early in the development lifecycle, reviewing requirements and designs for testability
- Track and communicate quality — maintain test documentation, report defect trends, and surface risks clearly to the team and stakeholders
What you bring
- 5+ years of professional software quality engineering experience
- Solid hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP — ideally in domains like Product Compliance, EHS, Dangerous Goods, or Materials Management
- Proven ability to derive test strategies and test cases from written software requirements
- A systematic, detail-oriented mindset paired with the curiosity of a good bug hunter
- Ability to explain quality concepts clearly and guide colleagues through test execution
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment with regular releases
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with product compliance regulations (GHS/CLP, REACH, dangerous goods transport — ADR/RID/IATA)
- Prior work experience in the chemical or process industry
- Experience with test automation in SAP environments (ABAP Unit, OPA5, BTP-based testing, or equivalent)
- Experience with test management and ticketing systems (e.g. Jira, ServiceNow, or comparable)
- Experience with ERP processes in the areas of Sales & Delivery, Purchasing or Transportation Management
- STQB certification or comparable
