Summary
SAP’s Business AI growth area brings together product development, marketing, go-to-market, and services teams into a dedicated end-to-end unit. In this set-up we focus on accelerating our AI foundation, scaling AI swiftly across our product portfolio, and driving customer adoption of SAP Business AI. In doing so, we collaborate closely with all teams across SAP. Our goal is to leverage the Generative AI momentum to make SAP #1 in Business AI and redefine business process software for the next 50 years.


What you will do

  • As a Joule Project Owner, you will play a crucial role in shaping SAP’s vision and future by working on building a platform that provides natural language processing capabilities and integrates seamlessly with other SAP products, to enable the one unified digital assistant for SAP powered by LLMs. You will contribute to the product roadmap and its execution.
  • Software Development: you will be the Product Owner for a development team responsible of all the phases of the software development lifecycle. You will maintain our product and release backlogs.
  • Coordination: you will interface with our global engineering unit distributed over the US, France, Germany, and India. You will help the communication between the different groups including Product, Engineering, UX, Program Management, Release Management, and Infrastructure.
  • Customer management: you will manage alignment with our stakeholders and customers, as well as help solve issues or escalations.

What you bring

  • Deep practical experience of agile product management ideally for major cloud native enterprise software vendors
  • Proven track record of building a product (feature) roadmap and then leading the execution of the roadmap via requirements collection, backlog definition and scoping in a product
  • Deep technical understanding of cloud native enterprise solutions and frontend solutions (UI/Ux)
  • Very strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to rapidly gather data, structure hypotheses, and develop synthesized findings/recommendations
  • Proven track record of success of independently leading software development programs/projects with practical experience in software development and/or product management
  • Understanding and practicing of product management frameworks
  • Expertise on Agile development and SCRUM methodology using JIRA. Agile certifications are a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Technical fluency in Java, React, SAPUI5, Javascript, SAP BTP is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of LLMs and AI concepts a plus.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering (or related field), and 7 years of relevant experience with product management, solution management or consulting roles closely related to development.

You will join the Joule team, which plays a pivotal role in today’s SAP’s Business AI Strategy. You will be working with the Digital Assistant team responsible for Joule development in the US. You will get to shape the vision for Joule, the one Digital Assistant at SAP, for both its end-users and the developers building capabilities for Joule as you will be involved with the Client and Compiler components of Joule. Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 141,700 - 294,600(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. SAP offers limited benefits for employees hired into hourly or like roles subject to appliable plan/policy terms.
