Job Description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you'll bring
- You have strong experience building and operating distributed, cloud-native systems and are familiar with Kubernetes-based platforms, containerized applications, Helm-based deployments, software lifecycle management, and enterprise integration patterns.
- You have hands-on experience with modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release engineering, and deployment automation using tools such as Jenkins, Git-based workflows, Helm, and Kubernetes. Previous experience in DevOps-oriented roles or close collaboration within DevOps environments is highly valued. You understand the full software lifecycle, from design and development through integration, deployment, operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- You possess a solid understanding of integration and messaging technologies such as JMS, Kafka or comparable event-driven platforms. Experience integrating, deploying, and operating open-source technologies and observability solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar platforms is considered a strong advantage.
- You have hands-on software development experience in one or more modern programming languages such as Java or Go. Experience with automation and infrastructure-related technologies such as Terraform, Bash, Groovy, or similar scripting languages is highly valued. You are comfortable working across application development, deployment automation, build and release pipelines, integration tooling, and operational workflows.
- Experience working in security-conscious, compliance-driven, and highly regulated environments is highly valued. Familiarity with observability and operational readiness practices is considered an advantage.
- You are comfortable leveraging AI-assisted engineering capabilities to improve development productivity, documentation quality, testing efficiency, operational readiness, and knowledge sharing. You understand how to apply AI responsibly within enterprise software engineering workflows while maintaining high standards of quality, security, reliability, and compliance.
- You are able to take ownership of technical topics, drive cross-team collaboration, and contribute to engineering excellence through documentation, onboarding, automation, and continuous improvement.
What you'll build
- You'll contribute to the evolution of the Edge Integration Cell runtime within SAP Integration Suite, enabling enterprise integration scenarios across cloud, edge, sovereign, and regulated environments.
- You'll design, develop, and evolve scalable, secure, and reliable platform capabilities, including deployment automation, lifecycle management, integration patterns, and operational tooling. You'll help ensure seamless integration, operability, and maintainability of EIC services and supporting platform components.
- You'll support strategic initiatives by driving platform readiness, deployment automation, observability, onboarding, documentation, and operational excellence.
- Implementing reliability improvements, troubleshooting complex system interactions, and continuously refining engineering processes will be key aspects of your work.
- You'll work across the complete software lifecycle, translating complex requirements into robust technical solutions while contributing to engineering best practices, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing across globally distributed teams.
Where you belong
You'll be part of the Edge Integration Cell engineering team, responsible for platform capabilities that enable Integration Suite workloads to run reliably across cloud and edge environments.
Collaboration across global teams is expected: sharing your expertise, contributing to platform capability improvements, and raising engineering standards are all part of how you will operate.
The team values accountability, and the expectation is that problems get surfaced and resolved, not worked around. If you want genuine ownership of production systems and the responsibility that comes with it, this is the right level. Skills used in this role include: cloud architecture, scalability, test automation, AI-assisted engineering, AI-assisted software development, AI-enabled knowledge discovery, AI-assisted troubleshooting, AI-assisted documentation and content generation, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), observability, AI-assisted automation and prototyping, AI adoption capability, and engineering productivity optimization.
