Team overview:

Join a cross-functional engineering team building scalable enterprise solutions. You will work on both microservice projects and larger monolithic applications and specifically contribute to SAP Commerce Cloud and Intelligent Selling Services solutions used by global customers. You’ll collaborate with product owners, architects and DevOps to deliver robust, production-grade software.

Role and tasks:

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java applications (microservices and monoliths) across the full software lifecycle.

• Build and evolve RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems; ensure robust versioning, error handling and backward compatibility.

• Implement features and fixes in SAP Commerce Cloud and Intelligent Selling Services, applying best practices for performance, extensibility and maintainability.

• Apply cloud-native architectures and patterns to build scalable, resilient services (containerization, orchestration, CI/CD).

• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and technical design decisions.

• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance and improve system reliability.

• Mentor engineers and promote best practices for testing, observability and deployment.

• Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks and API specifications.

What you bring:

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience; hands-on experience with Java 17+ is required.

• Hands-on experience working with both microservices and monolithic architectures in production.

• Strong, demonstrable understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, error handling and system integration patterns (synchronous and asynchronous).

• Documented experience with cloud-native technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, service mesh, cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Solid experience with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Framework Core, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).

• Familiarity with container-based deployments and orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Proficient with relational and NoSQL databases, and common integration/messaging technologies (REST, gRPC, Kafka, AMQP).

• Knowledge of security best practices (OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, API security).

• Strong software engineering fundamentals: design patterns, testing (unit/integration), code quality and refactoring.

• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Nice to have:

• Experience working on SAP Commerce Cloud, Intelligent Selling Services, or other SAP commerce/CRM solutions.

• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger/Zipkin, ELK).

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes pay transparency is essential for cultivating an honest, supportive, and inclusive culture, representing a significant step in our commitment to leading the way in achieving pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range, which includes both base salary and variable incentive targets for the career level of the posted role. The target range for this position is 207 200 - 348500(PLN). The actual amount offered to successful candidates will fall within this range and will depend on factors such as education, skills, experience, and role scope, as determined during the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a target amount, with the actual payout depending on both company and individual performance.
