What you'll bring

You're an experienced DevOps engineer with deep cloud infrastructure skills and the ability to take independent ownership of complex tooling challenges in an enterprise environment serving regulated industries.

• Deep proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform and Ansible
• Strong knowledge of major public cloud providers — AWS, GCP, Azure, and OpenStack
• Kubernetes expertise, including experience containerising VM-based workloads
• Experience with scripting languages and cloud automation pipelines
• A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required for this role.

What you'll build

You will lead the design and implementation of infrastructure tooling for SAP Sovereign Cloud operations, working closely with product owners, architects, security engineers, and programme managers.

• Design and implement the infrastructure toolset essential to SAP Sovereign Cloud operations
• Lead proof-of-concept development and integrate tooling into productive environments
• Automate cloud delivery workflows and provisioning at scale using Infrastructure as Code
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and deliver sustainable resolutions
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
• Collaborate with security and architecture teams to shape technical standards

Where you belong

Sovereign Cloud is a newly established business unit within SAP Product Engineering, built to unify SAP's Sovereign Cloud portfolio for Public Sector and regulated industries. The team works across all SAP board areas to create a harmonised, scalable delivery model. At this level, you will take independent ownership of engineering challenges and help shape the technical direction of the programme. This role involves up to 10% travel.

You're a skilled DevOps engineer with deep cloud infrastructure skills and the ability to take self-directed ownership of complex tooling challenges in an enterprise environment serving regulated industries.

• Deep proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform and Ansible
• Solid knowledge of major public cloud providers — AWS, GCP, Azure, and OpenStack
• KYou must have expertise in Kubernetes. This includes experience with converting workloads from virtual machines into containers.
• Experience with scripting languages and cloud automation pipelines
• A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required for this role.
