Role requires candidate to attend office 3 days a week in Monterrey or Mexico City.

SAP is seeking a Senior Network DevOps Engineers to design, implement, and automate network infrastructure while also participating in operational activities. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of modern data‑center networking and the ability to administer and troubleshoot complex network environments to deliver exceptional support to our customers.

If you are a Networking Engineer (f/m/d) with experience in Routing & Switching and Data Center Technologies, and you want to be part of a global team supporting world‑class Cloud Operations, you could be the perfect match for this role.

We are currently undergoing a major transformation within Global Cloud Infrastructure and Delivery – Network Engineering, so flexibility and adaptability as the team evolves are essential. You must demonstrate the ability to succeed in a DevOps, agile, and team‑oriented environment.

As part of a shared resource pool, the ability to manage multiple competing demands is key. Our 24×7 high‑availability, high‑change‑throughput environment focuses on:

  • Project Engineering – As a member of the Network Engineering Team, responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and documenting project work. This includes providing support during and after implementation, as well as troubleshooting.
  • Incident Management – Handling the next tier of escalation beyond the help desk and prior to involvement from dedicated stack engineers.
  • Change Management – Supporting the transition from manual to automated execution wherever possible and assisting with planning and manual execution when needed.
  • Problem Management – Performing root‑cause investigation from a technology perspective and executing corrective or preventive actions that arise from RCAs.

What you will do

  • Participate in project planning, design, and change implementation.
  • Support complex change preparation and execution.
  • Operate and maintain data center cloud networks, monitor performance, track significant issues, and perform hardware/software upgrades as required.
  • Develop Network Automation playbooks.
  • Respond to and resolve monitoring alerts and customer tickets in a timely manner.
  • Implement continual improvement actions driven by the problem management process.
  • Provide senior‑level support for deep technical incident troubleshooting.
  • Perform additional operational responsibilities such as hardware installation, troubleshooting, and administration.

Key Performance Measures

  • Projects delivered in alignment with project quality standards.
  • Ticket SLAs and KPIs consistently achieved.
  • Adherence to escalation procedures, policies, and operational practices.
  • All Service Requests, Incidents, Changes, Problems, and Knowledge Management records completed accurately and within defined SLAs.

What you bring

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience with data-center network infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite.
  • Strong ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including Cisco ACI, EVPN, VXLAN switching and routing fabrics, firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers.
  • Deep knowledge across vendor network OS platforms (e.g., IOS‑XE, NX‑OS, IOS‑XR, EOS).
  • Experience with technologies such as Cisco ACI, VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, MP‑BGP, HSRP, VRRP, OSPF, ISIS, VLAN, VRF, etc.
  • Experience with Network Automation using Ansible, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with GitHub, Ansible, Grafana, Prometheus.
  • Network security experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies.
  • A self‑starter mindset, able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate in rotating on‑call support (8×5 weekdays and 24h coverage on weekends)
