What you'll do:

PlusOne Central Engineering is the development team behind the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform SAP Cloud Infrastructure. We are running in 15 SAP owned data centers distributed world-wide. By augmenting an opinionated OpenStack distribution with bespoke services, we are meeting the demand of SAP’s cloud business. As true advocates for open source, we are underpinning our operations with Kubernetes and a cloud-native tech stack.


Our roadmap includes transforming SAP Cloud Infrastructure into a public cloud offering and expanding its capabilities with new services to support SAP Business AI and SAP BTP. A development hotspot is the evolution of network capabilities around firewall and connectivity into API-driven services. We are also reimagining how to provision compute, gpu, storage, and network devices. The development tasks span from bare metal up to the API layer.


You will jointly design and implement security-related platform capabilities by combining existing with self-developed free software and integration of software with infrastructure-related 3rd-party components. We will try to apply best practices and incorporate innovative ideas to automate the secure and efficient operation of the platform with innovative concepts to also provide capabilities for compliant operating with minimal additional manual effort.

What you bring:

  • Degree in Applied Sciences, preferably in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or OpenStack
  • At least 3 years of experience in software design & development, preferably with Golang or Python
  • Broad understanding of security frameworks, architectures, and best practices
  • Familiarity with security laws, strategies, processes, standards, and services
  • Ability to approach complex problems systematically along with a sense of ownership and drive
  • Very good English skills written and spoken

The SAP Cloud Infrastructure is a private cloud solution managed by SAP. It is an internal Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform deployed worldwide in 17 regions to support all of SAP’s cloud businesses on a global scale.
