Our AI Experiences unit is made up of multi-disciplinary teams comprised of Product Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, Engineers, and other AI experts and we all care deeply about the people who use our products.

As a prototyping specialist on our AI Experiences team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our AI-powered enterprise solutions; including Joule, the best AI copilot that truly understands business, and the Generative AI Hub, the best platform for experimenting and building embedded AI experiences across the SAP product suite like S/4 HANA, SuccessFactors, Concur, Ariba, and more.

You will build prototypes that help bridge the gap between design and development for enterprise-scale and consumer-grade generative AI experiences. Ideally, you will have a strong background in creating sophisticated prototypes that incorporate conditional logic and real data, and have experience building with HTML/CSS/JS, React, or Angular. You are a strong team player and know how to lead projects from rough ideas to successful outcomes.

You will leverage your design expertise to create relevant, reliable, and responsible AI experiences. You will ensure your prototypes make an impact by partnering closely with product and development teams across the Business AI unit as well as SAP-wide. You are eager to gather feedback and test prototypes with end users for research and validation.

You are passionate about design & development and continuously broaden your skillset on methodologies, technologies, upcoming trends, and enterprise business scenarios. You are eager to nurture the growth of early talents through mentorship and encourage feedback during projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering

  • Coding and Debugging: Write clean, efficient, well-documented code, and actively participate in debugging and troubleshooting activities with the “ownership mindset”.
  • Reviewing your peers’ code: Give guidance and mentor your peers through code reviews and pair programming.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Contribute to software solutions' development, testing, and deployment under the guidance and mentorship of experienced agile engineers. Participate and contribute to the design and architecture of your component. Participate in the code reviews.
  • Own your deliverable: Involvement in all agile phases to bring life to your code including testing.
  • Pipeline ownership: Hands-on understanding and experience of source repositories, Jenkins, and CI-CD principles.

Gen AI Prototyping

  • Influence the direction for AI-powered user experiences across SAP’s product portfolio
  • Prototype conversational experiences that utilize LLM technology to improve user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Translate Figma designs and product requirements into functional prototypes compatible with production front-end code
  • Test and iterate prototypes based on continuous user feedback and performance metrics.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with multiple development teams to ensure feasibility and functionality of design implementations.
  • Communicate your prototypes and ideas through clear and compelling demos.
  • Extend and contribute to the SAP Design Language & System
  • Advocate for the end user throughout the design and development process.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on the latest design and development trends, technology advancements, LLM technology advancements, and best practices in conversational UX/UI.
  • Share knowledge and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years designing and coding functional prototypes, ideally within enterprise or B2B software or AI-driven products.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in front-end development technologies including HTML/CSS/JS, and experience with frameworks like UI5/React/Angular. Experience with Swift/Java a plus.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate complex AI and data-driven concepts into intuitive user experiences.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Innovation: Passion for staying ahead of mobile design trends and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI in enterprise software.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 141700 - 294700(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
