Join us at SAP LeanIX as Senior Backend Developer and become an integral part of a cross-functional and international Engineering team. As a member of our team, you will not only contribute individually, but also support your team with a customer-centric approach and a drive to own both product capabilities and technical components across the backend.

The Role:

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will design and implement secure, scalable services in Kotlin using SAP HANA, Quarkus, SAP BTP and Kubernetes. Backend services are hosted in Microsoft Azure, and delivered via REST, GraphQL, or event-driven. You will balance your focus between supporting your team and driving broader company initiatives, proactively identifying high-impact opportunities. Additionally, you will enhance our architecture, automate testing, and ensure high-quality code through rigorous peer reviews and continuous improvement. Furthermore, you are supporting your team members and demonstrating an ability to understand customer needs, business vision and decisions.

What you bring:

  • 4+ years of working experience.
  • Expertise in Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HANA Cloud, especially in writing and optimizing SQL queries for performance and search
  • Familiarity with query profiling, indexing strategies, and performance diagnostics in SAP HANA Cloud
  • Experience with building and running scalable backend services is advantageous.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills in Englis
  • Experience using AI tools as a daily driver.
