What you'll build
Want to set the technical direction for platform services used by millions of SAP customers? As a Senior Developer on the BTP Metering & Reporting team, part of SAP's Commercial Foundation Services, you'll architect and build the cloud-native services that measure, track, and report product usage at scale – services that sit at the very heart of SAP's consumption-based business model. Your decisions will shape how the platform evolves, and your code will run in production environments relied upon by dozens of teams across SAP and its partner ecosystem.
You'll lead the design and implementation of complex backend services and REST APIs in Java and Go, drive technology choices, define architectural patterns, and mentor the engineers around you. You'll own features end-to-end – from shaping requirements through deployment and production operations – and you'll actively contribute to the long-term platform roadmap.
What you bring
• 6+ years of backend development experience, with deep expertise in Java and Spring (MVC / Boot) – and ideally hands-on Go experience too.
• A track record of leading technical decisions: you've defined service architectures, evaluated trade-offs, and driven solutions from design to production.
• Strong cloud and infrastructure experience: Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines are part of your daily vocabulary.
• Advanced SQL and data modelling skills, with experience optimizing queries and data pipelines at scale.
• The ability to make complex systems understandable – to your teammates, to stakeholders, and in the code itself.
• A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset: you raise the bar for those around you through code reviews, mentoring, and clear technical communication.
