This position is open to candidates who are currently based in either Mexico, City or Monterrey, MX. Requires 3 days a week in SAP office.

Meet your team:

The GCO ECS Delivery team is responsible for running customer landscapes globally in a 24x7 operations model. We operate a variety of critical SAP systems and applications embedded in an international delivery approach. Our team is responsible for building and operating the external customer systems for ECS Delivery.

As part of the GCO ECS Operations Team, the Global Database Team is responsible for all databases. In addition to project delivery and day-to-day administration, we also take part in strategic pilot projects for new technologies as a reference for SAP customers.

We are seeking a talented Senior Database Administrator with substantial technical skills to join our team in Mexico, City or Monterrey. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting essential projects and managing the administration of our Enterprise Cloud Services Delivery environments.

Our team is committed to driving continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and availability. You will be able to contribute to infrastructure landscape re-architecture and the adoption of new technologies. To succeed in this role, a global perspective and customer-centric approach are essential, aligning with the values of our new ECS Delivery program.

What you will do:

You will be continuously supporting SAP systems and resolving customer incidents.

You will be collaborating with global teams to share knowledge and best practices.

You will be responsible for database installations, upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation.

You will provide technical expertise and support for optimizing and tuning systems.

You will develop concepts and tools to improve efficiency and prevent issues.

You are willing to participate in on-call duty and rotational weekend tasks.

What you bring:

• 7 to 10 years of experience as DBA with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Management.
• Database Administration experience, in the topics below, in the most important relational databases in the market (SAP HANA, Sybase ASE, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
• Experience in database installations, monitoring, upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation.
• Experience in database concepts such as security, backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, system copy, high availability, disaster recovery strategy, export-import, and replication.
• Exposure to automation tools and scripting processes.
• Familiarity in database tuning and performance optimization.
• Knowledge in SAP HANA and Sybase ASE databases are a plus. Willingness to learn and work on those databases are essential.
• Familiarity in SAP product suite is a plus (e.g. SAP Basis, SAP Replication Server, SAP IQ, etc.)
• Database Team is responsible for all databases. In addition to project delivery and day-to-day administration, we also take part in strategic pilot projects for new technologies as a reference for SAP customers.
