We help the world run better

At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Corporate Strategy Group is part of the Strategy & Operations Board Area. The department is responsible to shape and execute SAP’s strategy and transformation. As part of this mission, we are looking for a Senior Consultant / Director – Strategic Portfolio Management, reporting directly to the Head of the Corporate Strategy Group, to drive strategic initiatives related to optimize SAP’s portfolio. We are looking for a person who will be an ambassador of SAPs How We Run behaviors and principles and who will continue to build an inclusive championship culture and a diverse team that is poised for success in every respect!

YOUR FUTURE POSITION

As a Senior Consultant / Director (f/m/d), you’ll play a key role in shaping SAP’s strategic portfolio and advising the Executive Board and senior leadership on pivotal decisions. You’ll be a core contributor to SAP’s corporate strategy, working closely with the Solution Area Leadership to design and deliver high-impact strategic initiatives to optimize SAP’s portfolio. Join a dynamic, high-performing team and lead the way from initial setup to strategy execution.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end strategic portfolio projects with the Solution Area Leadership team —from identifying key challenges and hypotheses to designing and conducting rigorous analyses (qualitative and quantitative), synthesizing insights, and defining actionable strategies.
  • Provide an independent point of view on SAP’s Solution Areas, identifying portfolio white spots, long-tail optimization potential, and high-priority focus areas using market and competitor insights.
  • Partner with Solution Area leaders and the Head of Operations to prepare for key governance forums (e.g., QBRs, E2E Days) and ensure effective follow-up on strategic actions.
  • Manage diverse stakeholders and expectations proactively; foster strong cross-functional collaboration across operational teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to senior executives, championing portfolio and transformation best practices.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Strong strategic understanding of global markets, macroeconomic trends, technological innovation, and industry shifts.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP’s product portfolio and strategic direction.
  • Holistic and analytical thinker with a clear grasp of SAP’s challenges and transformation agenda.
  • Proven ability to conduct complex, data-driven analyses and translate insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Experience in managing multiple strategic initiatives in collaboration with executive-level stakeholders inside and outside the organization.
  • Track record of high-impact project leadership in consulting, strategy, or product portfolio environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to senior and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
