Become a key contributor in our Global Strategic Customer Engagements team covering the Americas, EMEA, MEE and APAC regions, where you will have the unique opportunity to shape and support the most impactful deals.

Global Strategic Customer Engagements (SCE) team is a part of Commercial Business Model and Automation (CBMA) under Global Commercial Finance (GCF). Global SCE team works in close alignment with customer-facing roles supporting customer negotiations with focus on SAP Extension transactions enabling the seamless transition of our customers from On-Premise to SAP Cloud solutions.

The Senior Commercial Specialist role, part of the SCE Americas team and reporting to the Regional Lead Tom Loupy, has an exposure across Global and Regional Management levels of different organizations across SAP, such as Customer Success, Strategic Sales, GSI, Board CFO and Global Commercial Finance. This role has an objective of providing coverage at Regional level for Americas, delivering high-value services in all aspects of deal structuring including commercial deal support, and Quote Approvals at Global level.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Work under the leadership of existing Global SCE team, based on Regional coverage, in providing value-added services in the conversion of our customer from On-Premise to SAP Cloud Solutions.
  • Partner closely with customer-facing roles to support the commercial SAP Extension deals.
  • Support commercial deal structuring that align with internal policies and drive SAP business objectives, via adequate Quote processing activities.
  • Facilitate commercial negotiations with a focus on maximizing recurring revenue streams.
  • Deliver financial modeling and analysis to assess the impact of commercial concessions and non-standard terms.
  • Prepare comprehensive executive summaries for deal approvals.
  • Provide support for strategic ad-hoc inquiries from Sales and GSI by delivering guidance on the Extension deals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute feedback to enhance revenue operations.
  • Quick learner and willingness to drive change by maintaining an open-minded spirit to new SAP Commercial models
  • Actively engage in projects aimed at optimizing, standardizing, and automating our processes to drive continuous improvement.

YOUR PROFILE

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or comparable field with proven performance track record.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the software industry, preferably in a finance or commercial operations role.
  • At least 3 years of solid experience working with customer-facing teams, with the ability to shape compliant deal structures.
  • Knowledge of policies related to conversion of SAP On-Premise to SAP Cloud and experience applying them to customer specific situations (Extension policies) is a must
  • High preference for candidates with past Regional CE (former MGTM) experience or candidates having strong GCF experience closely related to Deal commercials
  • Good knowledge of related MU sales with experience related to key customer engagements.
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus

The Strategic Customer Engagement team is a global team that combine expertise in commercial, sales and financial fields with a significant impact on SAP’s recurring revenue and enabling SAP’s business expansion.

We have a strong regional presence and work proactively with regional Sales teams as well as other stakeholders on cross Cloud and On-Premise opportunities.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 112400 - 191100(CAD) CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount, and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance. Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
