We’re seeking a Senior Development Engineer to design and build next-generation microservices and APIs using cloud-first principles. You’ll work with modern technologies like containerization, serverless architecture, and AWS-native services to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Design, development & delivery of new features as part of agile team
• Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from product management, interaction designers, and other engineering teams (platform, mobile, quality).
• Pro-actively identify ways to make TripIt more robust, scalable and user-friendly.
• Own cloud services end to end, delivering distributed systems using AWS native services
• Execute with an enterprise cloud mindset to deliver on security, compliance, and infrastructure initiatives with engineering program management.

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technology-related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
• Strong professional software development experience, ideally in production environments
• Solid experience with client-side development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proficiency with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts across teams
• Excellent English communication skills
• Experience developing consumer-facing web applications is preferred
• Experience with server-side web frameworks, preferably Python/Django or PHP/Symfony

Preferred Skills

• DevOps mindset with understanding of Continuous Delivery and Observability is preferred
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and solutions is preferred
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, AMIs, EKS, and DynamoDB is preferred
• Practical experience with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes is preferred
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue is a plus
• Familiarity with one or more NoSQL databases is a plus
• Experience in Travel Technologies is a plus
