Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

About SAP Signavio

SAP Signavio helps organizations to understand, improve, and transform their business processes — quickly and at scale. Recognized as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant, SAP Signavio is one of the fastest-growing cloud business units within SAP and represents SAP’s spearhead for all things process. We empower companies worldwide to achieve operational excellence through transparency, data-driven insights, and continuous improvement.

About SAP Signavio Process Analysis and Mining

The Process Analysis and Mining product area was formed through the merger of two highly innovative product teams, Process Insights & Process Intelligence. Our solutions provide powerful capabilities that enable organizations to gain deep insights into their business processes. By leveraging process mining techniques, we analyze event logs and enterprise data to uncover hidden patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.

In addition, we deliver real-time visibility into business processes by integrating data from SAP systems and other enterprise applications. This enables our customers to make informed, data-driven decisions and continuously improve their operations with a measurable impact.

What you build

As part of Signavio’s continued alignment with SAP’s unified tools and processes, we are transforming our architecture towards BTP and SAP HANA Cloud To support this strategic initiative, we are looking for three experienced Application Engineers (T3 / T4).

As a successful applicant for one of these roles, you will work on evaluating architectural approaches, defining tooling and migration strategies, and running Proof of Concepts to validate solutions. You will play a key role in driving the migration forward and ultimately take ownership of the resulting platform and cluster.

At Signavio, we follow an end-to-end ownership model: teams discover, design, implement, and operate their solutions. You will collaborate closely with other teams across the Process Analysis and Mining (PAM) organization, share best practices, and actively contribute to shaping our future architecture while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.

What you´ll do

  • Leverage your experience with open-source technologies and large-scale data processing systems

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design, implement, and own the architecture migration strategy

  • Evaluate trade-offs between different architectural and tooling approaches while balancing technical and business requirements

  • Work closely with Principal Architects and Lead Engineers to define long-term technical strategies aligned with business goals

  • Build and validate Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to assess feasibility and scalability of migration solutions

  • Contribute to the development of robust, scalable, and cloud-native architectures on SAP BTP

  • Ensure high standards for system reliability, performance, and operational excellence

  • Follow Agile principles and actively contribute to a collaborative and learning-oriented team environment

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying optimization opportunities in data processing and system design

  • Take full ownership of SQL processing workloads, enabling custom or open-source pipeline orchestration components and creation and driving a unified execution log.

Would be great if you have:

  • Experience with Spark or similar technologies for large-scale data migration and processing

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS, and experience working with services such as Databricks and Iceberg

  • Experience handling migration scenarios involving applications with strong AWS dependencies

  • Solid understanding of modern data processing architectures and distributed systems

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and data transformation pipelines

  • Familiarity with SAP BTP services and cloud-native application design

  • Experience working in complex migration projects or large-scale system transformations

  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity

  • Strong interest in AI-driven development practices and an AI adoption mindset

  • Awareness of prompt design, context handling, and AI-assisted engineering workflows

  • Ability to critically assess and improve AI-generated outputs

  • Ability to design, implement, and optimize semantic search and retrieval architectures including RAG pipelines, knowledge graphs, and hybrid vector/keyword search systems and Lakehouse architectures

  • Ability to effectively leverage artificial intelligence tools and frameworks to streamline software development tasks such as coding, debugging, and testing.

Seniority levels

We are hiring for this role across T3–T4:

T3 (professional/proficient): You bring solid, proven experience. You can take a workstream and run it independently, contribute to technical decisions, and support less experienced colleagues. You have seen enough different systems to ramp up on new ones quickly.

T4 (senior/expert): You bring deep platform and data engineering expertise and can lead technical direction. You anticipate complexity in both infrastructure and data migration, contribute actively to shaping the team’s practices, and are a go-to resource for both your teammates and the teams you work with.
