SAP Internship Experience Program - Developer Experience Intern

What You’ll Build

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship, it’s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.

Position title: SAP Product & Engineering Operations and Strategy iXp Intern – Developer Experience

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Expected start date to end date: May 1, 2026 – November 1, 2026

You will support Expedited AI Tool Evaluation & Rollout, one of the key strategic initiatives in SAP’s global Developer Experience program.

  • Support the Expedited AI Tool Evaluation & Rollout (EATER) initiative by helping assess, document, and scale industry leading AI tools that enhance productivity, quality, and developer experience across SAP’s global product and engineering organizations.

  • Contribute to AI tool evaluation frameworks, including new development AI tool requests research, synthesizing feedback from product engineering teams, and supporting data-driven recommendations to our top executives for adoption.

  • Assist with trials, pilots, and global rollouts of approved AI tools by coordinating onboarding materials, creating enablement content, and internal communications.

  • Help create clear documentation, playbooks, and guidance to help development teams adopt AI tools efficiently and responsibly.

  • Support cross-functional collaboration between our Developer Experience team, Product Engineering, Security, Legal, and other stakeholders involved in AI tool enablement.

  • Help track outcomes and continuous improvement signals (e.g., adoption insights, qualitative feedback, productivity indicators) to inform future AI tooling decisions.

  • Provide support in preparing presentations, summaries, and demos that communicate findings, progress, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences and stakeholders including leadership.

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in Business Information Systems, applied Computer Science, Informatics, HCI, or a related field.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain key concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Comfortable presenting ideas, insights, and recommendations in meetings, workshops, and written deliverables.

  • A basic understanding of product engineering workflows, software development lifecycles, and continuous improvement practices.

  • Some hands-on exposure to industry leading AI tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) and curiosity to try out new tools and how they are applied responsibly at scale.

  • Analytical and structured mindset with interest in evaluating tools, synthesizing feedback, and supporting data informed decisions.

  • Self-driven, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fastpaced, crossfunctional environment focused on improving developer experience.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 0 - 0(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
