Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer specializing in SAP hosting environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role requires a seasoned technical leader with deep expertise in cloud architecture and DevOps automation.The ideal candidate will lead the optimization of enterprise-scale SAP landscapes across multi-cloud and hybrid environments and influence Cloud strategy. This position will be remotely based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud & SAP Architecture Leadership
  • Architect, design, and lead deployment of SAP landscapes (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, HANA, Solution Manager) across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Define and implement multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies for SAP workloads.
  • Lead large-scale SAP cloud migrations, transformations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Establish best practices for SAP hosting, including infrastructure standardization and automation.
  • Work with SAP Basis & Platform Engineering Teams.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for mission-critical SAP systems.
  • Design and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Develop automation frameworks for provisioning, patching, monitoring, and system refreshes.
  • Champion continuous improvement through automation and platform engineering principles.
  • Optimize SAP infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost across cloud platforms.
  • Implement governance, tagging, and cost management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and industry standards.
  • Design and enforce RBAC, identity management, and data protection strategies.
  • Act as a technical leader and mentor to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with application teams, enterprise architects, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Provide escalation support during critical incidents and SAP go-lives.
  • Influence long-term cloud and SAP platform strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred). Years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • 15+ years of IT experience with at least 10+ years focused on SAP Basis and SAP hosting in cloud environments.
  • Extensive experience supporting SAP workloads on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Proven track record leading SAP cloud migrations and large-scale enterprise transformations.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or mission-critical environments is a plus.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of networking, storage, and compute architectures in cloud environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Strong knowledge of security, compliance, and identity management in cloud and SAP ecosystems.
  • Expertise in SAP architecture is a plus.
  • up to 20% of travel required

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 195500 - 332300(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
