Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

NS2 Company Description

SAP is the global market leader for business software and related services. SAP National Security Services Inc.® (SAP NS2®) is an independent U.S. subsidiary of SAP. At SAP NS2, we leverage best-in-breed technologies engineered by SAP to help protect the lives, assets, and information of Americans. We deliver SAP solutions with specialized levels of security and support designed to meet the requirements of U.S. national security and critical-infrastructure customers.

SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) is a fully managed SaaS platform that unifies data, analytics, and business processes. It brings together capabilities including SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, BDC Foundation Services, BDC Cockpit, and integrations with services such as SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Databricks to provide a trusted data foundation for analytics, intelligent applications, and reliable AI.

This position requires access to customer data. U.S. citizenship is required; SAP NS2 does not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

All internal candidates must have manager approval to transfer.

As the Director of Operations for the SAP Business Data Cloud Platform, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the availability, resilience, security, scalability, and customer experience of NS2’s BDC platform.

You will lead the development and execution of the platform’s operating model across a complex, multi-component SaaS environment. This includes establishing operational standards, service-level objectives, observability practices, incident and problem-management processes, release readiness, capacity management, customer provisioning, and disaster-recovery preparedness.

This leader will build and guide a high-performing, distributed 24x7x365 operations organization and serve as a key partner to Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance, Customer Success, FinOps, hyperscaler providers, and SAP product and operations teams. You will translate strategic platform objectives into disciplined operational execution—ensuring BDC delivers reliable, secure, and mission-ready services to NS2 customers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Deep expertise leading operations for highly available, multi-tenant cloud or SaaS platforms, with demonstrated success delivering availability, scalability, security, and operational reliability across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or comparable environments.

  • Proven success building and leading distributed, high-performing Cloud, Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Operations teams supporting 24x7x365 services.

  • Demonstrated ability to define and govern SLAs, SLOs, KPIs, operational controls, incident-management processes, disaster-recovery exercises, and root-cause analysis programs.

  • Technical fluency with modern cloud-native and DevOps practices, including containers, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, CloudFormation, configuration management, and automation tooling.

  • Working knowledge of modern enterprise data and analytics ecosystems, such as SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP HANA Cloud, Databricks, data integration, data products, and data-governance concepts.

  • Working knowledge of cloud-security best practices, including encryption, secrets management, identity and access management, vulnerability management, audit logging, and security incident response.

  • Experience operating in regulated environments and partnering with security and compliance organizations to meet frameworks such as FedRAMP, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, DoD requirements, or comparable standards.

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate complex operational issues clearly to technical teams, executives, customers, and partners.

  • A strategic mindset coupled with a practical, hands-on approach to execution, prioritization, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Build

  • Lead the end-to-end operations strategy for SAP Business Data Cloud, ensuring secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performing delivery across BDC services, dependent cloud platforms, and third-party integrations.

  • Build and lead a high-performing, distributed 24x7x365 operations organization with clear service ownership, escalation paths, on-call readiness, operational procedures, and customer communications.

  • Establish a mature operational framework including SLAs, SLOs, KPIs, service-health reporting, monitoring, alerting, logging, runbooks, incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis.

  • Drive platform resilience through tested backup, recovery, business-continuity, disaster-recovery, capacity-planning, and performance-management practices.

  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance, FinOps, SAP, hyperscalers, and other technology providers to ensure production readiness, reliable releases, secure operations, and coordinated issue resolution.

  • Advance automation across deployment, provisioning, monitoring, remediation, configuration management, and operational reporting to reduce manual effort and improve service quality.

  • Ensure operational practices support NS2 security, compliance, auditability, and data-protection requirements, including identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and security-event monitoring.

  • Drive continuous improvement in platform reliability, customer experience, cloud-cost efficiency, and operational maturity through data-driven decision-making and long-term technology and capacity planning.

Where You Belong

You will join a collaborative, mission-focused environment where cloud reliability, security, and innovation are central to how we serve our customers. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of platform strategy and operational execution—leading the teams and operating practices that enable SAP NS2 to deliver SAP Business Data Cloud with confidence.

You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance, Customer Success, FinOps, SAP, and external technology partners to shape the future of a secure, scalable, and resilient data and analytics platform for U.S. national security and critical-infrastructure customers.
