Position Summary
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support and optimize our SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) landscapes running in secure cloud environments. You will:
- Provision, operate, and automate SAC and related cloud services
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Partner closely with product development and platform teams to enhance our SAC services
- You will work in a diverse, globally distributed team, cross-train with other engineers, and help evolve our DevOps practices for mission-critical customers
Key Responsibilities
SAC Operations & Reliability
- Provision, monitor, and operate SAP Analytics Cloud services and supporting components in secure cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud)
- Perform upgrades to SAC core services to ensure systems remain secure, stable, and up to date with the latest features and patches
- Lead upgrades for SAC customer systems, minimizing disruption and ensuring seamless integration with existing landscapes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting the SAC landscape, including system outages, performance degradation, and integration failures
- Manage incident and change tickets, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and adherence to ITIL best practices
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
DevOps, Automation & Tooling
- Design, develop, and implement automated tools and workflows to streamline SAC operations and increase overall efficiency
- Build and manage deployment pipelines (CI/CD) to promote changes from lower environments into production in a controlled and reliable manner
- Apply infrastructure and platform upgrades, including vault infrastructure and HANA base image updates, in line with organizational standards
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Implement and support monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., CloudWatch and other monitoring tools) to ensure high availability and performance
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Manage cloud technologies and associated architectural styles, including microservices, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes/EKS), and serverless architectures where applicable
- Leverage AWS services (such as Route 53, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, ACM, KMS, VPC) to support SAC and related NS2 cloud solutions
- Collaborate on the deployment and orchestration of services using tools like Helm and Terraform, with secure configuration management through Vault integrations
- Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of servers, systems, and data in a government cloud environment
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Partner with product development and platform teams to design, enhance, and harden SAC services
- Apply agile software delivery practices and industry-standard DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
- Work independently on assigned sub-projects and contribute to team milestones with moderate to high complexity
- Document operational procedures, runbooks, and architectural diagrams to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence
- Participate in an on-call rotation, with flexibility for weekend or after-hours work as needed
Required Qualifications
Technical Competencies
- Experience with Linux (e.g., SUSE) administration in a production environment
- Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins or similar)
- Experience building, implementing, and/or supporting monitoring tools for cloud-based services
- Solid understanding of cloud computing and databases, including basic HANA or other relational database concepts
- Basic to intermediate understanding of:
- Web services, networking, virtualization, and internet protocols
- SaaS multitenant application security fundamentals
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Exposure to container orchestration and cloud-native architectures (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS EKS)
Experience
- Target: 3–5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud operations, preferably supporting SaaS or SAP workloads
- Demonstrated experience operating or supporting SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BTP, or other SAP cloud solutions is highly preferred
- Prior experience in agile delivery environments and working with DevOps practices and toolsets.

- Clear, concise communication skills (verbal and written) to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
- Experience with:
- SAP Analytics Cloud and/or SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- AWS services: Route 53, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, ACM, KMS, VPC
- Jenkins, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, HashiCorp Vault
- Troubleshooting IP networks and application stacks
- Familiarity with government cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud) and related compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of modern SaaS platform concepts, integration patterns, and extensibility frameworks
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, SAP) are a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred or additional four (4) years of relevant experience can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Work Environment & Other
- Position may require collaboration across multiple sites and time zones
- Ability to work in a secure government contracting environment
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required

The targeted annual combined range for this position is 90000-198500USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
