EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Are you looking for a role focused on modern cloud, DevOps and AI-native technologies, with direct impact on engineering productivity and software quality?
Are you passionate about automation? Do you enjoy finding inefficient processes and improving them? Are you eager to learn new technologies and use AI to solve real engineering challenges?
We are seeking highly motivated students to join the teams responsible for the automation, reliability and scalability of SAP’s cloud lifecycle management services. You will work on release automation, deployment processes, test infrastructure, compliance-related topics and CI/CD pipelines that support SAP’s cloud business.
You will have the opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies, AI-assisted engineering practices and large-scale delivery platforms while collaborating with experienced professionals and talented engineers.

Specifically, you will:

• Analyze, optimize and automate release, testing, security scanning and deployment pipelines.
• Identify manual, repetitive and inefficient engineering processes and transform them into reliable automated workflows.
• Use AI tools extensively for research, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous process improvement.
• Investigate unstable test executions and help improve test reliability and quality.
• Design and implement smarter test execution strategies by introducing different test suites for different validation and release scenarios.
• Improve CI/CD pipeline performance, reliability and execution time.
• Participate in deployment activities, environment provisioning and operational automation.
• Research and help clarify compliance, governance and security requirements and support their implementation.
• Participate in all phases of the software service lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment and operations.
• Work in an agile team applying Scrum, DevOps and modern engineering practices, contributing to team goals across different technical areas.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

Student in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
Good programming or scripting skills in at least one language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash or PowerShell
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Interest in DevOps, Cloud technologies, CI/CD and automation
Experience with Linux/UNIX
Willingness to use AI tools as part of everyday engineering work
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Excellent team player, self-motivated and passionate about technology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency in English

Advantage

Experience with AI-assisted software development and automation
Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry or other container platforms
Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure services
Experience with CI/CD platforms, build systems, release automation or test automation
Knowledge of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code concepts
Understanding of software testing practices and quality assurance processes
Knowledge and experience with microservice architectures
Knowledge and experience with agile software development methodologies

WORK EXPERIENCE

Previous internship, academic projects or personal projects related to software development, cloud technologies, DevOps, automation or testing are considered an advantage.
