Where you belong
The Global Finance Success (GFS) organization is one of the main pillars of Global Finance at SAP. It allows SAP to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness as well as the quality of the finance processes while delivering global end-to-end process standards.
Within GFS, the General Accounting Services is centred around four main accounting clusters: Revenue, Expense, Cash & Bank and Allocations. GA oversees the financial accounting process of collecting, processing, and presenting accurate financial data, which complies with accounting standards and guidelines.
The Allocations Accounting team manages the intercompany accounting and internal revenue & cost allocation processes for the SAP group. The team focuses on several key topics such as:
- Management allocations: CO Allocation cycles, CO reposting engine approval process, Governance of the allocation cost centers (A&B CC) e.g. Purchase order approval and Operational Support for Controlling
- Intercompany (ICO): ensure tax and accounting compliant ICO FI entries, manual ICO charges (e.g. Acquisitions), ICO Analysis and Audit support.
- ICO Royalties: ICO Cost Allocation of 3rd Party Royalty Expenses, ICO Legal License Fee Calculation, Audits & Reporting.
What you’ll build
The Allocation Accountant within the Processing team will report directly to the GFS GA Finance Manager. This role involves handling both Intercompany Accounting and Management Allocation activities and is responsible for ensuring that transactions are recorded promptly, accurately, and in accordance with SAP accounting standards. This position can be based at any of the GFS hubs located in Prague, Czech Republic; Manila, Philippines; or Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Allocations Accounting team members proactively and collectively perform the tasks and processes on either global level or for dedicated SAP subsidiaries. Interaction and collaboration within GFS process delivery teams (in GA, P2P, O2I) as well as with Local Chief Accountant (LCAs), Local Tax Managers (LTMs) and other organizations is daily business. As part of GFS, we ensure top-quality services for all internal customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS / EXPECTATIONS: In this role, you will gain knowledge in various accounting and controlling topics.
The following are the main tasks and responsibilities:
- Post intercompany journal entries and ensure accurate transaction recording.
- Monitor and manage intercompany requests, updating relevant parties on status.
- Perform intercompany reconciliation and work with teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Process expense and revenue reclassification requests from the CO-reposting inbox.
- Support month-end closing activities.
- Run allocation cycles (assessment and distribution).
- Maintain business relations with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Allocation Accounting CoE.
- Participate in the process of alignment and standardization across countries and regions.
