What you’ll build

In this role, you’ll contribute to the backbone of SAP HANA Cloud’s delivery pipeline. As part of the HANA Cloud CI/CD team – within the HANA & HANA Cloud Quality Engineering unit under BTP HANA & Persistency Database Cloud Excellence – you will help ensure that hundreds of changes reach production every month in a fully automated, compliant, and transparent way.

Your work will directly impact the quality, reliability, and compliance of the HANA Cloud delivery process. Specifically, you will:

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipeline tooling that enforces compliance checks across the full HANA Cloud delivery stack.

  • Contribute to automation scripts and tools that enable self-healing, scaling, and intelligent change management for cloud landscapes.

  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for managing distributed cloud environments (multi-cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Help build and enhance the team’s internal reporting and analytics system (powered by SAP Datasphere) to provide transparency across the delivery and deployment process.

  • Identify reliability and quality gaps across CI/CD pipelines and contribute to solutions that improve availability, performance, and compliance.

  • Explore and apply AI-driven approaches to evolve our CI/CD pipelines – from intelligent failure analysis and automated root-cause detection to AI-assisted pipeline optimisation at the edge layer.

You’ll be working on real-world, production-grade systems – not sandbox projects – shipping improvements that are used every day by SAP HANA Cloud development teams globally.

What you bring

We care more about your curiosity and drive to learn than a perfect resume. If you have most of these, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience or strong interest in scripting and automation using Python, Shell/Bash, or similar languages.

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and comfort working in a command-line-driven workflow.

  • Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure or CI/CD concepts (e.g., containers, Kubernetes, Git, pipelines) – or an eagerness to learn them quickly.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to spot patterns, diagnose problems, and communicate findings clearly.

  • Good written and spoken English for collaboration in a globally distributed team.

  • Experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar LLM-assisted development workflows) is highly preferred – candidates who already code with AI will have a clear head start.

Nice to have: experience with Azure DevOps, Go/Golang, Kubernetes operators, or data visualization tools.
