Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll do:

Summary:

Enterprise software is shifting from passive process infrastructure to active decision infrastructure. SAP is pioneering autonomous enterprise decision systems that combine optimization science, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence to help organizations navigate complexity and execute under real-world constraints.

The Product Manager Optimization, Quantum & AI will own the strategy and roadmap for highly technical products within SAP’s business application portfolio. You will translate the vision of autonomous decision systems into deployable enterprise solutions that create measurable value across diverse domains—from supply chain and manufacturing to finance, HR, procurement, and customer operations.

This role requires bridging two worlds: deep technical understanding of optimization, quantum computing, and AI architectures on one side, and sharp business acumen for enterprise operations on the other. You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge computational methods and real-world business constraints, translating customer needs into product requirements and architectural decisions into market positioning. Your products will become core components of SAP’s Autonomous Enterprise with Quantum Brain vision.

The Role:

• Define and execute product strategy for autonomous decision systems that combine classical optimization, quantum algorithms, and AI into enterprise-grade solutions for complex planning and execution problems across SAP’s entire application portfolio.

• Own the product roadmap, balancing innovation in decision infrastructure with customer adoption, technical feasibility, and business value delivery—positioning products as core components of SAP’s Autonomous Enterprise with Quantum Brain.

• Translate enterprise customer requirements from diverse business domains—supply chain, finance, HR, procurement, customer operations—into technical specifications for optimization engines, orchestration layers, and execution interfaces.

• Work closely with architects, development managers, and research teams to ensure product decisions reflect both market needs and technical possibilities—including quantum computing capabilities and hybrid computational approaches.

• Position the product in market context: articulate differentiation, competitive advantage, and strategic value of autonomous decision infrastructure versus traditional workflow automation or AI assistants.

• Drive customer engagement and validation: conduct discovery sessions, run pilots, gather feedback, and iterate based on operational deployment experience.

• Collaborate across SAP business units to identify integration points, reuse opportunities, and ecosystem partnerships that amplify product impact across the entire enterprise application landscape.

• Define success metrics and track product performance: decision quality improvements, planning cycle time reduction, resource utilization gains, and customer satisfaction across diverse operational domains—from manufacturing to finance, HR to customer operations.

What you bring:

• Product management experience in enterprise software with proven track record owning technical products in business applications (5+ years).

• Strong technical foundation in optimization, operations research, or computational methods—sufficient to engage with architects and developers on algorithmic approaches and system design.

• Deep understanding of enterprise business processes across multiple domains—supply chain, finance, HR, procurement, or customer operations—you know where decision complexity creates operational bottlenecks and strategic opportunities.

• Ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders: explain quantum algorithms to executives and communicate market requirements to researchers, with vision to expand product impact across SAP’s entire application portfolio.

• Experience launching products in dynamic, emerging technology spaces where category definition and customer education are part of the challenge.

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to assess technical feasibility, market opportunity, and competitive positioning simultaneously.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with ability to influence across organizational boundaries.

• Ability to thrive in environments where technical innovation and business value must be balanced—comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration.

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field; MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus.

Meet your Team:

You’ll join SAP’s Optimization, Quantum & AI organization—a team redefining what enterprise systems can do. We’re architecting decision-capable infrastructure where optimization science, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence converge into deployable systems. Your products will become core components of SAP’s Autonomous Enterprise with Quantum Brain, expanding across the entire application portfolio. We operate with clarity about what matters: decision quality, system reliability, deployment credibility, and governance. If you want to shape products where technical depth and business impact are inseparable—and strategic reach is organization-wide—this is your opportunity.
