Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

All SAP locations in Germany as for example Walldorf (close to Mannheim/Heidelberg), Hamburg, Berlin, Ratingen (close to Düsseldorf), Eschborn (close to Frankfurt), Gerlingen (close to Stuttgart), Hallbergmoos (close to München) are possible.

What you'll build

SAP provides a comprehensive range of enterprise software applications and business solutions to help the world run better. As the management consultancy of SAP, SAP Business Transformation Services (BTS) supports customers in their digital transformation journey to become an Intelligent Sustainable Enterprise. A major factor for doing so successfully is to understand our customers' business and IT needs and act as their trusted advisor for the business transformation journey.

Public services are sometimes perceived as paper-heavy, but in reality the public sector is the backbone of our society and daily life. For SAP, it is one of the largest industries across Customer Success and Customer Service & Delivery (CS&D). From a project perspective, it includes unique customers (e.g., the German Bundestag, Fraunhofer, Hasso-Plattner-Institut) and distinctive processes and use cases (e.g., the Kulturförderungsapp, subsidy management, and research facilities).

Understanding unique Public Service Digital Transformation challenges is now essential across the sector. Governments and agencies aim to boost operational efficiency, enhance citizen engagement, and accelerate service delivery by using innovative technologies. At the same time, regulatory requirements and legitimate concerns around security, privacy, and digital sovereignty can slow cloud adoption, heightening the need for expert transformation services. With SAP’s portfolio and services, you as Business Consultant play a critical role in guiding both business and cloud transformation for public sector customers.

What you bring

  • several years work experience in consulting, with exposure to SAP solutions preferred
  • proven track record for actively driving transformations
  • Solid understanding of trends and challenges in the Public Sector, including industry specific engagements
  • Experience in contributing to large SAP transformation programs within the Public Sector
  • Good architectural or project management skills in diverse environments
  • Familiarity with IT trends and topics relevant to the Public Sector
  • Experience in communicating with stakeholders in the Public Sector
  • Knowledge of SAP’s strategy and product portfolio (SAP S/4HANA, cloud, and related solutions), with a willingness to learn and expand expertise
  • Basic understanding of Enterprise Architecture projects, SAP-related architecture, and roadmap assessments
  • Familiarity with innovation topics such as Business Model Innovation, Design Thinking, and emerging technologies
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work conceptually, with a focus on quality and results-driven engagements
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to contribute to high-impact presentations
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new tasks/challenges in an innovative environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration, or a related discipline
  • Excellent German language skills are a must, English is a plus
