Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Want to combine your Master's studies at TUM with real-world experience — not just observing, but taking on responsibility and contributing your own ideas from day one? Then the STAR Program at SAP is the right fit for you. SAP has been repeatedly recognised as a Top Employer and is strongly committed to social and corporate responsibility. As part of our global Student Training and Rotation Program (STAR) — currently running in 14 countries with around 1,500 students and apprentices — you'll join a worldwide community of peers. Our Munich office, with more than 1,400 employees, is one of SAP's leading innovation hubs in areas such as Cloud ERP, Supply Chain Management, Customer Experience, and Artificial Intelligence. As part of the SAP Labs network — a global network of development locations with a strong focus on programming — Munich is a growing hub for innovation and a frontrunner in bringing AI into enterprise software, particularly in the ERP space. During your practical phases, you'll work across different teams, gain insight into a wide range of topics, and continuously build your expertise at the cutting edge of enterprise technology.

Join one of our upcoming Info Sessions:

  • On-site at our Garching Office MUE03 | 19 Oct, 4:00 PM (Register here)
  • Virtual via Microsoft Teams | 4 Nov, 4:30 PM (Register here)

What you'll do

The Program kicks off on 1 March 2027 with a five-week, full-time onboarding — you'll build foundational skills, get to know SAP as a company, and build a network with your fellow STAR students right from the start: a community that will support you throughout your time in the Program.

Regardless of your specific degree programme, a wide range of placement options at SAP will be open to you. Over the course of the Program, you'll rotate through four different departments - one per semester - selected based on your own interests. Possible areas include AI Platform, ERP Engineering, Product Manageemnt, and Customer Delivery, among others.

The SAP Munich office is located directly on the TUM campus in Garching, making it easy to combine work and study without compromise. You'll work an average of 20 hours per week, with hours you can flexibly arrange around your lectures in coordination with your team.

At the end of your studies, you'll have the opportunity to write your Master's thesis in collaboration with SAP — practice-oriented and in agreement with your academic supervisor. You'll also have access to an extensive internal training offering to support your personal and professional development goals.

Future perspectives

STAR is more than just a student job - it's designed to be the starting point of your career at SAP. By the time you graduate, you'll have real project experience, a network across the company, and a clear sense of where you want to go next — and we'll know you, too. Our goal is to see our STAR students grow into the next generation of SAP talent, and many of our current employees started exactly where you are now.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.5 or better (German grading scale)
  • Admission to or enrolment at TUM - starting October 2026 or March 2027 in one of the following programmes:
