Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Meet your Team

Join SAP's Corporate Sustainability team to accelerate our supplier sustainability transformation. This role leverages financial rigor and sustainability expertise to convert our supply chain into a competitive advantage through comprehensive supplier engagement on climate action and human rights principles.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Sustainability & Scope 3 Enablement

  • Support SAP’s supplier sustainability agenda with a focus on Scope 3 upstream emissions, human rights and circular economy principles

  • Drive and support selected Global Procurement initiatives related to real‑world decarbonisation measures, supplier engagement programs and data improvement efforts

  • Drive the transition from spend based to primary supplier data (i.e., Product Carbon Footprints), strengthening the credibility and usability of supplier‑related emissions data

Strategic Support for Global Procurement

  • Act as a senior sustainability expert and sparring partner for Global Procurement teams, providing methodological guidance and sustainability expertise for supplier engagement activities led by Global Purchasing Organization.

  • Support and drive executive‑level stakeholder engagement across lines of business to secure buy‑in and support for sustainability‑driven procurement decisions

Reporting, Governance & Financial Rigor

  • Apply CSRD/ESRS and EU Taxonomy expertise to supplier‑related sustainability and human rights topics

  • Contribute to double materiality assessments, with a particular focus on upstream value‑chain risks and impacts

  • Strengthen the integration of sustainability data into corporate reporting and decision‑making, applying a clear “estimates‑to‑actuals” logic

Capability Building & Systematic Change

  • Support the integration of sustainability aspects into procurement‑related processes, governance frameworks and IT systems

  • Enable supplier capability‑building approaches that demonstrate clear environmental and social impact while creating business value

  • Act as an internal multiplier for sustainability mindset and knowledge across functions

What you'll bring

This role requires a distinct combination of sustainability depth, financial expertise and stakeholder orchestration skills:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience combining sustainability leadership with strong financial background, including exposure to social sustainability and human rights topics

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Experience in coordinating and orchestrating supplier engagement processes to identify and assess environmental and Human Right risks across the supply chain, ideally with tool experience like IntegrityNext

  • Hands‑on experience orchestrating ESG reporting platforms and data flows and coordinating cross‑functional input at scale.

  • Strong finance & reporting backbone and the ability to apply this rigor to sustainability data (“spend based to actuals” mindset).

  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior interface to executive stakeholders (e.g., direct exposure to top management / board‑level environments), translating complex content into crisp decision material.

  • Fluent German (native‑level) and English (C2) with the ability to lead senior discussions and produce high‑quality written outputs in both languages.

  • A track record of cross‑functional orchestration across Finance, Compliance/Legal, Operations and sustainability stakeholders — not just contributing but driving alignment and outcomes.

  • Proven end‑to‑end ownership of CSRD/ESRS delivery, including Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) and the translation into IROs / governance / reporting narratives.

  • Credible experience covering both environmental topics (Scope 3 / supplier data / Product Carbon Footprint) and social sustainability / human rights in corporate governance and reporting contexts.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity: able to structure work, set governance, and move stakeholders from discussion to execution — while staying pragmatic and business‑oriented.
