Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Communications Expert for our Chief People Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in shaping, refining, and conveying the CPO’s strategy, priority topics, and key messages to various stakeholders, including employees and media.

The position operates at a strategic level and requires deep subject-matter expertise across P&C and emerging AI topics, executive presence, resilience, and the confidence to engage in constructive dialogue at Executive and Board level.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a trusted communications advisor to the CPO, providing high-level counsel while also delivering hands-on execution
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the company’s overall strategy and values
  • Shape and continuously refine the CPO’s overarching narrative across transformation, workforce evolution, and AI enablement
  • Craft clear, compelling, and consistent messages for the CPO’s internal and external communications engagements to bring strategic corporate messaging, as well as the CPO’s specific storyline to life in an authentic way
  • Transform complex internal thought leadership and People & Culture topics into high-quality content and impactful storylines for various audiences
  • Prepare executive-level materials including board messaging, talk tracks, keynote speeches, and leadership communications
  • Partner closely with the CPO and their leadership team to align on priorities and ensure cohesive messaging
  • Collaborate across teams to prepare engagements with key stakeholder groups
  • Connect business, political, and HR dynamics to provide holistic communication guidance
  • Handle critical communication situations and develop communication approaches that safeguard and strengthen the company’s reputation

What you bring

  • Strong background in Employee Communications or a related field
  • Extensive experience working with senior executives and ideally Board-level stakeholders, preferably within the People & Culture / HR domain
  • Deep understanding of HR and People topics, combined with a good understanding of AI, technology trends, and their impact on workforce transformation
  • Proven track record in a senior corporate communications role (10+ years), ideally in complex, global, fast-paced environments
  • Strong transformation experience and understanding of the risks, sensitivities, and opportunities involved
  • Strategic mindset combined with operational excellence — able to move seamlessly between advisory and execution
  • Experience developing executive-level thought leadership, speeches, and high-impact narratives
  • Strong political acumen and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes
  • Ability to distil complex topics into clear, engaging communication
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships across leadership levels
  • Confident, resilient personality with the courage to speak up and challenge constructively
  • A strong team player who is also happy to work independently
  • International and intercultural experience is a strong plus
  • Understanding of the priorities and challenges of an IT company in today’s macroeconomic environment would be a plus
