The Director (Government Affairs) for SAP Greater China is responsible for developing and executing strategies for government and regulatory engagements in China, aligning with SAP's business objectives. The person is expected to work in partnership with internal stakeholders, anticipating and engaging on policies and regulations with an impact on SAP operations and business growth. The role also involves identifying political and social developments beneficial to the industry and working towards brand amplification.
Responsibilities
Public Policy
This role will be responsible for
• Supporting the company’s success by actively monitoring regulatory & policy initiatives in the most relevant areas related to the company, such as AI, cloud, digital economy, trade, etc. and develop SAP’s positions and influences on these topics.
• Proactively communicating with internal cross-functional teams around political, legislative, and regulatory trends, opportunity and risks that may impact SAP.
Thought leadership
• This role will be responsible for positioning SAP as a trusted partner to the government and increase the company’s market leadership in related government events.
• Strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders to actively pursue and shape policies and opportunities favorable to SAP business.
Strategic Business Support
• This role will be critical to support the company’s strategic initiatives as well as daily operations.
• This role will support the company in risk prevention and crisis management.
Stakeholder Management
This role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing the relationship with key government stakeholders to advance the company’s business most effectively.
• Key stakeholders include but not limited to MOFCOM, NDRC, MOFA, CCPIT and other central government authorities.
• Key stakeholders also include policy think-tanks, industry associations, academia, chambers, international organizations, foreign embassies in China, etc.
Compliance
This role shall strictly comply with the ethics and compliance standards of SAP in all aspects.
Qualifications
· Minimum 15 years of related experiences.
· Demonstrated ability to build and execute public policy programs that support business operation and growth.
· Ability to work cross-functionally with both headquarter and APAC regional teams.
· Committed to team’s goal and collective success.
· Written and spoken English communication skills.
· IT industry knowledge preferred.
· Previous working experiences with government or its affiliated institutions is preferred.
